Kat's favorite day of the week was Saturday. She could sleep in and take her time doing things that needed to be done. Normally she wouldn't do much of anything and then would have to cram everything in on Sunday night. After all she did have better things to do with her life. Homework was important to her, but it was not the most important thing to her. Honestly she hated homework, it took away from her free time and caused her to do things that she didn't want to do. She loved singing and could spend hours in a studio, but she couldn't stand to be in a classroom for more than ten minutes. Normally when she did her homework she would listen to music and sing, because it made the time go by faster. The problem with the classroom was the fact that she couldn't do that there. All the teachers had a big issue with listening to music while in class. Not something that she really understood ever, because it wasn't like the music was going to give her the answers or anything, and it wasn't like she would listen to music while testing.
Kat pushed away her homework. She had most of it done, and it was Saturday, so she decided to go to the park. The park was a place that Kat always found amazing. Her brother told her it was her inner child finding yet another way to escape, which is something that she then told other people. Caleb was a smart guy and he knew Kat better than she probably knew herself. Naturally he would have known that the place to find Kat in the park was on the swings. Which was the first place she went when she reached Macken Park. Kat loved the swings. The higher she went the more she felt like she was flying. The higher she swung the higher her spirits would get. When she was really little she would pretend that she was going to swing right into the blue nothingness of the sky. For a little bit, when her parents were forcing her to go to church, she would imagine that when she flew into the blue of the sky God would be there ready to catch her when she jumped. Not that she ever jumped. She was always way to scared of the ground when she started flying.
