Dean wondered how he got himself into situations that he couldn’t handle. The opportunity to go to this school had been too good to pass up and with his parents being extremely encouraging, he didn’t see a reason as to why not to go. He really didn’t see much in life besides his music. There wasn’t really any knowledge as to what else he wanted to be once he graduated and went on to college because according to his parents not attending college wasn’t an option. It wasn’t like he didn’t understand that because in this day and age you really couldn’t go anywhere without some type of higher education despite the fact that he probably had enough money to last him a lifetime. His expenses wasn’t something he showed off, his parents were very open people and didn’t dictate his life unless it dealt with his education, but his friends and anything else outside of that was not meddled with. He was free to make his own decision in that area in contrast to some of his other high class friends who thought it was okay to look down at others who didn’t live like them.
He was pretty glad to get away from all that because at the Academy despite how hard of an adjustment it was, he didn’t have to deal with it. Everyone here pretty much came from all over and were all different in their own unique ways. Sometimes, he did feel embarrassed about being a grade behind of where he should be and he knew it wasn’t his fault. There was a perfectly good explanation as to why he’d been held back, but it still didn’t change how he felt at times. At the moment, he had drifted down from his dorm to seek out the cafeteria. His day had been spent studying up for a few upcoming exams and getting a paper or two out the way. Math was proving to be difficult for him though because he was still on the same problem he’d started with a half hour ago and the homework load wasn’t exactly little. He thought maybe some fuel would help clear up his head a little. It was fairly full, assuming it was a weekend and most went out to eat or something. Grabbing a tray, he piled it with some food before looking around, not really spotting anyone he knew and took a seat at the closest empty table.
