“Gavin, hey. I'm sorry.” she said breathlessly, grabbing his arm before he could say anything and pulling him in the direction she was headed.“Let’s go this way."Sarah made time for a trip to the mall to buy some new dance shoes. The ones she had were already a few years old, the color faded and the soles already forming a hole under her right one. She didn’t exactly have a lot of funds to have a collection of them, a pair of good quality shoes were expensive, but if she was going to last the next three years at the school with an instructor who didn’t take any kinds of crap when it came to dancing then she was going to really need at least two pairs. She didn’t think her foot size would change much, she’d been a size six and a half since she in sixth grade so she wasn’t too worried. The allowance money she received from her parents for the month would be used on this purchase so that meant she couldn’t afford to do much after she left until next month’s allowance came through. After trying on a few, she finally found two that she liked and went to the counter, watching as the cashier rang them up and handing her the cash when she told her the total. She stuffed the change into her back pocket and left the store.
This was the first time she’d been here and decided that since she was already here and didn’t really have anywhere else to be that she might as well take a look around. The only bad thing about the mall were the guys who thought it was a great way to pick up a girl. It was simply unavoidable. So, when she began passing a group of boys, who looked to be a little older than herself and already talking amongst themselves when they saw her. She paid them no mind, ignoring their rude comments, which she had no desire to repeat to anyone and the whistles that followed her. It was a complete turn off, she found by no means to be endearing or sweet in any way. It annoyed her to no end, the way they were harassing her. Where the hell was security? She picked up the pace, just about to round the corner to get away from them when she collided into someone. Laughter from behind erupted and Sarah blushed feeling incredibly stupid, already hurrying out a rushed apology so she could leave until she finally looked up. She had never been so relieved in her life.
