Josh sat on the couch as he waited for Kristen to get home from work, flipping aimlessly through a book and occasionally giving light pats to the dog curled up at his feet. Teddy had grown big in the past year, and he was about full size by now, which made sense seeing as he would be two years old in a few months' time. It was a bit strange thinking two years back, though. Two years ago, he'd still been single, living by himself in his apartment, teaching at the Academy and well... his life hadn't been bad nor boring, but it'd been rather plain and very simple, as well as quite repetitive. Of course, as of now he couldn't say any of those details had changed much - he still teached at the Academy, and lived in the same apartment. But Kristen had changed so many details in his life, and now he was engaged to her, soon to be married. Well, how soon he didn't know, seeing as they hadn't quite discussed a date or anything like that yet, though he knew for a fact that she'd figured out quite a few details as to what it would be like. He hadn't gotten too involved in said details though, not because he didn't care, but because he figured that Kristen had probably started planning her wedding when she was a child still. He wanted her to have the wedding she wanted, and he trusted her to be reasonable enough.
There was another kind of step they had yet to take, though, and he'd been thinking that the timing was pretty much right around now. After all, they were engaged, and he'd been saving up money for this for a while now, since he'd started working at Gordon Parks' actually. Summer would be here soon, which would leave just enough time for preparations and planning, and then it was getting a bit harder to restrain Teddy in such a small space. He wasn't hyperactive or anything like that, but he was still a dog, and Josh figured he'd probably be much happier with a bigger space to run around. And so he'd gone house hunting. Of course, he hadn't actually bought a place or anything yet, considering the fact that he wanted to make sure Kristen loved what would become their home, but the one house he had in mind just seemed like the one place they could build a life and a family in. And so he'd planned out what to do today - he'd made sure that the 'for sale' sign wouldn't be on the lawn, and he'd arranged something with the estate agent in charge of the place, which so happened to be one of his close friends - the reason why he'd even seen the house in the first place - so that he would be able to show Kristen the place without her knowing it could be theirs soon.
