Christmas holidays had always been a happy time for Violet. It was a holiday she enjoyed a lot, and it was family time, which was something she loved above all. In the past couple of years though, her appreciation for that time of year had started dwindling down - she still enjoyed the family time and Christmas itself, but it was hard to appreciate it fully when it was a time of year during which Gabe went back to Australia for several weeks. Of course, she couldn't blame him for it - he didn't see his family during the majority of the year, and though she didn't want to make herself sound more important than she was, she knew she had been one of the deciding factors in his staying in the US for college. Clearly there were other things that had influenced that decision, like the fact that he actually enjoyed being here, that he had a lot of friends around and that he would have an easier time pursuing an acting career in America than he would in Australia. And though she wasn't really a fan of big cities in general, she would have no problem heading off to LA or New York if that's where he wanted to go and become an actor.
Today was the last day he would be in the city before getting on a plane in the morning, and then she wouldn't see him until the second week of January, so she'd made sure to get everything done that she needed to and not make any plans for the night. She'd bought his Christmas present already, and planned on bringing it over to his plan so that he could open it with her there, figuring it didn't matter too much if there was still a couple of weeks before Christmas. She got herself ready in her dorm room, pulling on an outfit she knew he particularly liked and leaving her hair in its natural curly state, applying a bit of makeup and taking a last glance in the mirror before grabbing her winter gear and putting it on. It was a good thing that his apartment wasn't too far from the Academy as she didn't really feel like taking a cab, walking all the way there instead, her cheeks red by the time she arrived. She shook the light layer of snow that had accumulated off of her shoulders and the top of her head, making her way over to his place and knocking lightly on the door.
