Jessica had slept in a good part of the morning, and she felt absolutely no shame about it. She'd just gotten back from Australia the day before, and with how long a plane ride that was, and how messed up her biological clock was, she figured she deserved a bit of extra rest. Besides, her roommate still hadn't gotten back, so she had no reason to not lazy about the room for however long she wanted - which, granted, probably woudn't be much longer now that she was awake. She wasn't necessarily a morning person per say, but once she was awake, she was awake. Unless it was some kind of fluke and she woke up during the night, or she'd only been sleeping a couple of hours. She stretched and yawned in her bed, rubbing her eyes lightly as she glanced over at the clock on her bedside table, not overly surprised to see it was already about lunch time. Oh well, she didn't really care about skipping breakfast. Most of the time, she much preferred food to sleep, but in a case like this one, it could just as easily get reversed. Traveling did tend to tire her out if she had to sit on a plane for hours on end.
She kicked off her covers and got out of bed, grabbing her clothes for the day along with her towel before heading over to the bathroom and taking a quick shower. She took care of blowdrying her hair, having to use her roomie's blowdryer as she didn't exactly own one of her own, and got herself ready for the day, though she didn't actually have any plans at the time being. She knew Mel was spending the day around the city with her sister, and Haylee was still freezing her butt off in Canada. As it was, she wasn't particularly happy about the weather in Kansas City - not that she minded the cold much, but seeing as she'd just come back from the south side of the equator where it'd been summer, she hadn't exactly been overly pleased with the snow that had greeted her. Oh well, she would get used to it again soon enough. She grabbed her coat and pulled her boots on before making her way outside of the dorm building, heading off into the city in search of a good restaurant to eat lunch at. She wasn't sure what she was craving just yet, but she didn't feel like eating at the school cafeteria.
