Connor waited for her answer, trying to think of another place that he'd like to go in case she didn't want to go to Cafe Provence. He didn't know why she wouldn't want to go, but some people were just like that. He had friends like that, they just didn't want to eat at certain places and there wasn't always a reason for it either. Weird as it seemed. He wasn't quite sure what he was going to do if she did turn out to be one of those people actually. Maybe he'd take her to that one place, he couldn't remember the name of it at that moment in time. It was a place that artists apparently liked a lot. Something about crayons if he remembered correctly. He thought for a moment and then it came to him. The Crayola Cafe, that was it. He hadn't ever really been there himself, but a few of his friends had and said that it was a nice place. He was sure that she'd like it if she didn't like his first suggestion. After all she was an artist and therefore she would probably enjoy things that had to do with art.
He watched her as he waited, allowing himself to admit that he found her attractive. But it wasn't in the traditional way, she was different from what he usually looked for. The types of girls that he usually went for were nothing like her. They were more girly, less opinionated and blunt, more able to blend in. The types of girls who walked around in mini skirts and flip flops no matter what type of weather it was outside. The ones who constantly had conversations about nothing and had an IQ of about three. He never minded having those types of girls hanging off of his arm, blonde, bubbly, chatty, and gossipy. It never bugged him once, but somehow thinking about it now and comparing his ex girlfriends to her, it made him feel bad. Because in a way he was saying that everything that he usually liked wasn't her. Yet at the same time, he was more confused than anything else. How could it be that that was the truth. That he found her very attractive even though she wasn't anything like he really liked. Or rather had a history of liking. It was surprising to him to say the least.
However he was snapped out of his thoughts when he heard her give an answer. He looked back at her and smiled slightly when he heard her say that she wanted to go, but was a little surprised when he heard that she hadn't been there before. "I can't believe that you've never been there before," he told her. After all he'd gone a couple times a year since he'd been at the Academy. They had great food, he always made a point of taking someone who hadn't been there before every year too. That way he could honestly say that he got someone to do something new. Also because people always ended up loving it there. So it was really something that he enjoyed doing. It was always nice to see people's reactions to new food and new places as well. It was always something that he loved to watch someone take part in a new experience, no matter how small it was, because the reaction they had to it was priceless. Whether it was good or bad.
He nodded when he heard her say that she was going to go back to her dorm and grab a few things. That made sense, after all he highly doubted that she had planned on going out to eat when she had headed to the art room to do his portrait. If she had, she wouldn't have to go back to her dorm to get anything. "That sounds good," he said. "I'll meet you outside your dorm." He gave her a small smile and headed outside.
