Will really didn't feel all too bad about the fact that he'd just had to tell his parents a lie about hanging out with Val, even if she seemed to be a bit offended by it. He did what he had to do not to get pulled from the Academy, not to get into any major amount of trouble because he didn't want to have to deal with it. His family life wasn't the same as everyone else that was around, it was different and slightly complicated. And if she wanted to get offended by the fact that he didn't admit to hanging out with her, well then, that was her deal. He'd said to them on agreement to coming to the school that he would follow the rules that were set down if he wanted to stay and since he did want to stay he always looked like he followed those rules at the very least. So what if he was basically staying under his parents thumb for a bit of security? He wasn't stupid. He didn't have a whole hell of a lot he could do in his life anyway, the only thing he knew for sure that could work out was the predetermined plan.
He shook his head a bit as he watched Val take off her bowling shoes and put back on the boots that she'd been wearing, thinking that she was overreacting just a bit as he watched her little dramatic exit, complete with a parting line and everything. Well, with that kind of timing she could probably make a good actress. He sat down and got his own bowling shoes off, putting back on the pair he'd brought with him and hearing his phone go off again. Pulling it out of his pocket, he glanced down at the lucent screen and saw that there was actually a text message from one of his friends asking if he wanted to come and hang out with the guys. Well, there was irony for you, but he decided that he might as well and quickly texted a response back after he'd gotten his shoes on. He dropped off the bowling shoes at the front counter, ignoring the look that the guy there gave him and heading out. The worst thing about this whole thing was probably the loss of the girl's make out skills, which were pretty good but oh well life went on.
