Dear Milo,
Your father and I have been missing you dearly since you left and I do wish that maybe you might have been spent a little more time at home this summer. Hopefully the next time that you come home we'll be able to spend a bit more family time together since you seemed a bit too busy over the summer to do so. That's alright though, we understand that you were busy with all your plans of trying to get moved and settled in before college started. We both hope that you are well and having fun during your first term of college. If there is anything that you feel is missing out of your apartment don't hesitate to ask for it because whatever it is your father could have it shipped within a day or two.
I want you to know right now that I'm in the middle of planning a family vacation for us, maybe over your spring break? It doesn't have to be just family though, you could bring that lovely friend of yours along, Addison. And your girlfriend too. I think it would make the vacation all the better. It's obvious how you think of Addison as a sister and from what I hear you've got to be pretty serious about this Taylor if you're still dating her so it would make sense if she came along. She should definitely meet the family sometime anyway, especially if you ever have intentions to marry her. But I know that you're extremely busy with all your college stuff so I'll take the time to write each of them and invite them personally as well just in case it happens to slip your mind next time you talk to them.
As for Christmas, I know that you spent it at the Academy while going there and that now you have your own place but we'd love to see you come and spend at least a day or something here. That way we can all exchange gifts and have a nice big family dinner, it'll be great. When you write please let me know when it is that you'd want to come home so I can start to get everything all planned out even if it is a couple of months away yet.
There is another matter that your father and I do wish to discuss with you but it seems improper to discuss in a letter. So if you could please call home in a time that is convient for you we'd love to hear from you and it doesn't just have to be when we say we need to talk. Whenever you want to call or visit is fine with us. The sooner the better.
Love from,
Mattie
