Dear Isabelle,
I am glad to hear things are going well for you this year again at the Academy, and I am eager to have you and your sister come back home for the summer. You wouldn't believe how quiet the house is with you two darlings gone, it seems so strange, walking past your empty bedrooms. I suppose it is good practice for when the two of you will be grown up and will leave the house, but for now I still look forward to having my babies at home whenever possible.
Now sweetie, I know of your concerns for your sister, and I understand them fully, but as much as I wish I could keep her always on the right path, or even keep her the little girl she used to be, we both know she has to walk her own way in life, and I trust that she is a brilliant enough girl that she will realize what that right way is. I had those fears when she decided to go away to school, I feel quite helpless as to how to help her. And I would never want either of my babies to get hurt, and as much as I can I want to prevent either of you from receiving any pain in your life, but as an adult I also know that some people have to get hurt a little for them to realize what they should and should not do.
That being said, I know you've always been an amazing old sister to Mikayla, no matter how tense things have gotten in the past few years. I have to keep faith that it's a phase she's going through, and that she'll pull out of it a better, stronger girl, but until then, we'll all have to do our best to watch over her in spite of her not wanting to be watched over.
All that said and done, I need to tell you that I also want to get a strong and healthy oldest daughter back this summer, and so please do not stress yourself sick over finals and essays and all those other things they have you doing at the moment. You're an incredibly smart and capable girl, and I know you'll do amazingly well. Rest between studying sessions, spend time outside, soak up a lot of good vitamin D, I want a daughter in shape to go on trails with this summer.
I love you my Izzy, take good care of yourself.

P.S.: I hope you'll enjoy the little taste of home I've sent you.
