My dear Valerie,
I've just received your prom pictures, and I have to say, baby you looked so grown up, it almost made me want to cry. You may have figured that your father has no idea of the existance of these pictures, but I have to say your dress looked absolutely gorgeous, and I am sure the only way iyou could have worn a better fitted dress for yourself is if you'd made it entirely from scratch.
As for that boyfriend of yours... well, there isn't a single doubt that he is very attractive. Do be careful though. Remember sweetie, you are still so young, and your father is right in wanting to protect you. Of course, you are sixteen now, and he's always agreed that it would be the okay age to let you date, but you still know how he is likely to be when he meets this William boy. I suppose you were fully understanding of that though, when you asked me if he may come and visit us during the summer.
As for all those graduation parties and such he's invited you to... well, darling, I'll have to give it a bit more thinking. You've been gone almost all year, and you know how much your sisters were looking forward to seeing you again this summer, as I was. I've missed my big daughter so much, and I want you to spend a good amount of time at home. As for your friends, you know they're always welcome to come and stay some time - I've already written back to Vince about his girlfriend.
I hope you'll enjoy your last month of school sweetie, and I can't wait to see you, nor can your father and sisters, and our little mystery baby that you'll get to meet this summer.
With all my love,
Mom
