Dear Vince,
I'm gonna have to start by saying, if I ever have to wait this long again to receive a letter from you, things will not go well this summer when you get home, young man. In all seriousness, I have very much missed your writing in the past months, seeing as you seem to be a stranger to phone and emails to top it off, I've had to rely on your sister to hear about you, and of course there are chances that she'd embellish a little, so I'd much rather hear about you from you.
I am, however, very glad to hear how well things are going with that Brooke girl of yours. I've heard more about her from your sister of course, but she does seem like a very nice girl and I can't wait to meet her. God knows if I was expecting my son to fall so hard for a girl at such a young age! But it's obvious she makes you happy, and she makes a great friend for your sister too, as does that Elina girl she also talks about (which apparently Dakota is quite taken up over? Both your sister and his mother have told me about it). I'm glad to hear she's keeping out of trouble. And I'm glad to hear you're leaving her room to breathe as well. I know you want the best for her, but she's a smart girl, and she knows how to defend herself. She's proven that - not in the best way, but she's proven it still.
Now, as for your girlfriend visiting in the summer, of course I've got no problem with the idea of it, I think it will be very nice to meet her. She will, however, stay in your sister's room, and there shall be no argumentation there. I also want to talk to her parents first, as I'm sure they will want to talk to your father and I before granting permission to their daughter to spend some time with a family they've never met before.
I'll be waiting to hear back from you on this. Until then, I hope you'll take good care of yourself, and not work yourself to death.
All my love,
Mom
