PERSONALITY
Jessica is, in short, a diva. She can be very self-centered and selfish at times, and she seems to think the world revolves around her. As most people could tell you, she thinks very highly of herself, thinking she’s an amazing person. When she has an opinion about something, she always believes that it’s right, and she’s incredibly stubborn. She’s painfully honest and blunt, telling people exactly how it is, even if it will upset them. Jessica is a very judgmental person, labeling people almost instantly. However, she does realize that people can change, and is willing to change her opinion of a person. It takes a lot for her to do so, but if she sees major differences in someone she’ll try and see them for the person they’ve become.
Jessica could also be described as twofaced. At times, she can be incredibly sweet and innocent. She gives off the appearance that she’s very quiet and kind when that’s only half true. Jessica can also be very demanding, rude, and uncaring. Her attitude depends on the person she’s with and her feelings towards them. She can be extremely nice to one person, and an absolute jerk to another.
Although Jessica is willing to flirt with just about any boy, she is very careful with who she gives her heart to. She isn’t very trusting to begin with, and she doesn’t like to just jump into relationships. Jessica likes to take things slowly in a relationship. Boys have hurt her before, and she’s always afraid they’ll do it again. Trust is something people have to earn from her, and it’s not easy.
APPEARANCE
Jessica keeps up with all the latest fashion trends. Most of her money is spent on expensive clothes and accessories, all of which from the hottest stores and designers. She usually walks around with her designer purses, and her outfit isn’t complete without a pair of sunglasses. Jess is obsessed with shoes, and she wears everything from Converse to Mary Janes to high heels to cowboy boots. Her pants are usually a little tight, and her skirts are usually on the shorter side. She loves wearing leather jackets, along with tank tops and camis. Jessica doesn’t like just throwing on whatever, but instead likes to look her best at every moment of the day.
Small, black, square glasses can be found on Jessica’s face, although she only wears them when she absolutely has to. Her eyes are naturally a dark shade of brown, but it isn’t abnormal for her to wear color contacts so her eyes match the outfit she’s wearing. Her long, brown hair is so dark that at times it looks black. Jessica’s hair is naturally curly, although she straightens it most days. She stands at 5’5”, and weighs about 130 lbs. Jessie isn’t exactly tall or short, nor is she extremely thick or thin.
HISTORY
Andrew Ashmore and Bridget Russo had known each other since they were kids. The two were next door neighbors and first met just months after they were born. They were best friends growing up, and it wasn’t until Bridget moved from their small New Jersey town when the two were seventeen that Andrew realized he had feelings for the girl. They kept up a long distance relationship for several years, and moved in together after they had both graduated college. The two were both twenty-five when they finally married.
Jessica Arleen Ashmore was born on December 19th, 1993, in Easton, New Hampshire. The family lived in a small cottage near the mountains, close enough to be able to get to the ski lodge the family owned and operated. Her mother worked for a fashion magazine on the side, both for the extra money and for her love of clothes. Jessie grew up with both a love for the outdoors and fashion, accompanying her parents to work whenever she was given the chance.
Her mother not only got Jessica interested in clothes, but taught her how to design and make them. Jessie was always excited to try on new clothes or play dress up. She spent most of her childhood in dresses and high heels, putting on fashion shows for her parents or friends. Fashion was something she was good at, and she could create whatever look she wanted. As she got older, she spent more and more time sitting in her room, drawing up designs and creating them with her sewing machine.
Growing up, Jessica was very sheltered. While her mother let her down whatever she wanted, her father was very overprotective. Jessica was only allowed to date boys he approved of, and all her dates had to be chaperoned. She was told how the reproduction system worked, but otherwise the topic was never talked about, and any questions had to be asked when her father wasn’t around. Acting out was never tolerated in the Ashmore household, although that only encouraged Jessica to act rebellious when she escaped the house.
Jessica told her parents about the Gordon Parks’ Academy after finding it online. At first, her parents were hesitant about sending her to a school so far away from home. They agreed to check out the school anyway, and after looking into it they decided to let her apply. Her mother had gotten her an application to fill out shortly before she graduated from the eighth grade, which she quickly sent in. After a few weeks of impatiently waiting, Jessica finally received her acceptance letter and headed off to Missouri.
ROLE PLAYING SAMPLE
As Scarlett walked towards the entrance to the Gordon Parks' Academy, she started to regret telling her father she wanted to fly out from Portland alone. No, she wasn't afraid of being on her own or missing her family just yet. In fact, she wasn't sure if she would miss them at any point this year. Her house was no longer a pleasant one to be in, what with her step-family there and the constant arguing, even if she was the cause of most of it. She really only wished one of her brother had flown out to Kansas City with her for the weekend so she wouldn't have to carry all her luggage. Scarlett was pulling two colossal rolling suitcases behind, plus two carry-on bags and her purse. Each of her bags was fulled to the brim, and most of the items she'd stuffed into them were articles of clothing. Plus, she had her parents sending her a few boxes of her possessions, which she hoped would be there soon since she would have trouble living without some of the things they contained, such as makeup, hair care products, and school books she hadn't been able to fit into her other four bags.
Scarlett approached the girls' dorm building, walking up to the desk and handing her papers to the lady. She pretended to care as she was told the rules of the dorm rooms, really only taking in the one not allowing boys in. It was hard to stop herself from laughing when she heard that. Yeah right, like there was actually a single person in the building that followed that rule. She gave it a few months before she herself broke that rule. When the lady finally finished squawking, Scarlett took her keys and headed to her room. She took the elevator up to the second floor both out of sheer laziness and because she wasn't entirely sure she could make it all the way up the stairs with all of her bags. Walking down the long hallway, she came upon room 221. She turned the knob, discovering that the door was already unlocked, which meant her roommate must have already arrived. Scarlett wasn't keen on sharing a room, or anything else for that matter. She already had to share a room with her step-sister at home, although there was no way any roommate she received could be more annoying than Stephanie. She pushed open the door, walking inside the room. It was rather boring and tasteless, but she'd expect that much, although she'd wished it had at least a splash of color. As she took in the room around her, she noticed her roommate for the first time. She wasn't sure what to think of the girl, but she hoped she would at least be able to stand this person since they'd share the same sleeping space for the next year. "Hey, I'm Scarlett." she said as she walked over to the vacant bed, setting down her bags.
