Dear Zoey,
I'm excited to hear about how prom went and I expect to see many pictures from the event. Of you all dressed up, of your dress, of your hair and of anyone you might have went with. Did any boys ask you to dance? If they did then I expect to hear about that too, if they didn't then they are clearly missing out. Either way, I hope that you had a magical night because you deserve it after all the hard work that you've been putting in at that school.
Speaking of all that hard work you do, Dad, Thomas and I will be coming to see your last performance this year as well. You haven't gotten out of it the past two years, don't think that just because you're a big Junior in high school that you're too old for us to come around. Besides, I've already promised your grandparents that I was going to video record the whole thing for them. Besides, they always came when I was in school, so I think it only seems fair that things should be that way.
The summer house renovations are almost finished too, so everything will be done by the time that we go off for vacation there. The new pool is what has taken the longest to finish, but I'm sure that you're going to love it as you're likely to love what we did with your room. I'd tell you more but it's a surprise, one that I'm sure you're going to love. Then again, since when haven't you loved the summer house? I used to have to pry you away from it when it was time to leave.
Oh, before I forget to tell you, Dylan has been asking about you. Our neighbor to the left that's your age, remember? He keeps asking when you're going to be home for the summer and I think I know why. He's a very respectable young man, Dylan. I must say that he's been warming up to the family lately, though of course your father likes him because he's interested in perusing a career in medicine. However, ultimately we both know that no matter how good of graces he gets with anyone in the house, if you don't take to him then there is nothing that can be done. No matter how respectable he might be, if my baby girl isn't happy then he just isn't going to be the one that gets to stick around.
I should be going, I've got an appointment to keep with the Bordon's little girl. I'll try to call you sometime soon, so make sure you have time made to talk to your family. We miss you too much for you to be busy all the time. I know that you've got a lot to be done, but you'll manage it fine.
Until then, I love you my Zoey. Keep up all of your amazing work and try to have some fun before the end of the year.
Hugs and kisses,
Mom
