PERSONALITY
To say that Jared is the perfect example of a bad boy turned good would probably be extremely cliche, but also very true, and there are still many hints of it that show through his every day life, but he's improved a great deal. Some habits didn't quite leave with his behavior improvement - he drinks, though not quite as much as he used to, and smokes several cigarettes a day still. He's quite the charmer with the ladies, and usually goes for more forward girls who are a bit badass themselves, but he doesn't really do serious relationships. He's mostly one for flings, maybe because he just hasn't realized yet that what he's really looking for is a girl more like his mother, cheerful, bright, hopeful and sweet, and he'd be more than happy to find a girl he could finally treat the way she deserves, not that he'd ever mean to anybody, but he does tend to get a fling mostly for the sex.
But in spite of his rougher outward appearance, Jared is more of a softie at heart - even if you'll never hear him admit that. He doesn't let just anyone close, but the moment someone makes it in, he's loyal til the end of the world toward them, and is there whenever he's needed. He can be a bit moody though, and if he's not feeling at his best it's usually better not to approach him, unless you're a really good friend of his, because he's likely to pretty much just snap your head off. He's a very active person and enjoys being outside, whatever the weather is - he hates playing sports when copped up between four walls in a gym, he's more for a game of basketball one on one in the nearest park than for a real match in gym class, and same goes for any other of sport. He's a winter sports fan as well, mostly snowboards and hockey, but he also loves iceskating just for the fun of it.
Confident and smart, he tends however to have a slight tendency toward jealousy. He's rather possessive, but not in an overwhelming manner, though he's never really been close enough to a girl to want to keep her to himself badly enough, but he's bright enough to know everyone needs to breathe. He has nothing against the idea of his girlfriend - if he ever has one - having other guy friends, but he's ready to beat them up the moment they try flirting with her. He does tend to get into fights quite a bit, though he's not an overly violent person - he'll never hurt someone just for the heck of it, but it's his way of defending himself and the people he loves, even if it's not the best one.
APPEARANCE
Jared can definitely be described as an attractive guy. Well built, but not bulky, he has nothing to be ashamed of when it comes to his body, and the amount of sports he participates him keeps him in good shape, enough so that it attracts the girls he wants. He mostly hides his bright green eyes behind sunglasses, even when it's not sunny out, and keeps his hair to a short (but not too short) length, leaving it fall over his eyes in a shaggy way as he's not really one to waste time in the morning to style it. He tends to let his facial hair grow enough so that it looks like he hasn't shaved in a few days, but he never lets it grow out enough to have a proper called beard.
Not very tall for a guy, he stands at merely 5 foot 9 inches, but his size has never stopped him from doing anything he wants, even if it's something usually considered for taller people, and it definitely doesn't affect his fighting skills. He doesn't really have a clothing style per say, he'll mostly wear whatever he wants to wear if it fits well (most of the time) and is clean. He buys what he likes, and he couldn't care less about whether it's trendy or not. Most of the time he'll been seen around with a plain or button up shirt and a pair of jeans, and in the summer he tends to go more for sleeveless shirts. He has a certain weakness for hoodies and owns quite a lot of them, which he wears practically the whole year around. He's also rarely seen around outside without a cigarette clenched between his lips or fingers.
HISTORY
Jared Xavier Greene was born to Sgt. Harold and Katherine Greene (born Yekaterina Alexandrovna Kaminski) on the 26th of February 1992 in Moscow, Soviet Union, now restored to the name of Russia. His father, being in the military, was stationed in Moscow during the end of the Cold War when he was only twenty-two years old, in the mid eighties, and when he was moved to St. Petersburg in 1987, he met the woman that would become his wife. The Kaminsky household was constituted of eleven people, five siblings (including Yekaterina), her parents and two sets of grandparents, living in a small house holding merely five rooms. They were one of the many not so rich families living in the USSR, and Yekaterina was earning as much money as she could by working in a small market in the town center. That is where she and her husband to be met, and it wasn't long before they fell in love, communicating harshly through Harold's weak Russian and Yekaterina's poor English. For two years, they saw each other weekly, learning more about each other's personality and language, and in 1989, Harold proposed.
Yekaterina did not approve of their relationship, but knew their daughter was being quite spoiled by the army man. Harold was not overly rich, but he owned enough money so that he could buy presents and necessities for his sweetheart, and every day he stepped through the front door of her house, he held either fresh food or other little gifts. However, their mindset was not on the idea of an union, and Yekaterina's father put his foot down, refusing the marriage. It was however too late - the two were in love, and vowed nothing would pull them apart. Two weeks after the proposal, they eloped together, and the luck being on their side, Harold was moved back to Moscow at that very moment. It was only one year after their marriage that Yekaterina wrote back to her family, being forgiven by some, but not from most. She did not care much - she did miss her family, but loved her husband and cherished hopes of a better life. In July 1991 came the news that she was expecting a baby, and the couple prepared to expect the new life in their small household. Yekaterina was six months pregnant when the Cold War was officially ended on the 25th of December, and they started their planning in order to move back to the United States.
Complications occured in the young girl's pregnancy, and she was too far along to be allowed on a plane when everything was back to normal. Jared was born a month early, but still quite healthy, and he spent the first three months of his early life in his mother's home country before the little family moved over the Atlantic, establishing themselves nearby his father's old hometown, in Newport, Vermont. He was not a spoiled child but he grew up without a lot of a man's presence, his father often away for work, and his mother, though smart and sweet, was not necessarily a very strict woman and his own temperament lead him to becoming a bit more of a rebellious child. What did he rebel against? Nothing, exactly, but his firey personality merely pushed him to be more than his mother could handle, and he was often told off. It didn't improve as he grew older, and when he first joined school, a professor suggested to get him interested in some activity to take some of his energy away. Sports were tried, but though Jared enjoyed some, he didn't find much interest in them.
One day when he was walking with his parents in the town center, where all the shops are situated, they came across an instrument store. For some reason, he instantly felt drawn to it, and seeing his interest, his parents brought him inside to explore a bit more. That was where he found what would be his passion for life - a dark, wooden cello. One was acquired and he instantly started lessons, putting most of his energy into it and improving at a fast pace, making it obvious that he was very talented and had a good musical ear. Unfortunately, though he was passionate enough about it, it didn't really improve his behavior. He started smoking when he was twelve and drinking followed the year after along with drugs. He was suspended from school several times, failed many classes and at thirteen, his father gave him an ultimatum. Either he got his act together, or it was off to military school for him. The situation caused many tensions, but in the end it worked out rather well. He stopped fighting at school - well, fought less - got his grades back up and quit drugs. He lessened his alcohol intake as well, but he hasn't managed to quit smoking just yet.
Halfway through his Freshman year of high school, he heard of Gordon Parks' Academy from his councelor at school. At first, he didn't really think he had the least chance, seeing his past behavior in school, but his grades being back up, and his musical talent obvious as it was, he was offered a chance to prove himself and a chance to join the school if he kept his grades up thorough the rest of the year. That done, he received a one year scholarship for his Sophomore year, and has been told he would be offered another for his last two years if he kept things as well as he already has. Now is his chance to proove himself.
