PERSONALITY
Milly is a pretty cool headed guy - he likes to weigh things up logically rather than get himself all tangled up in a problem, be it in terrms of school work or social issues. He's the sort of guy who won't get too worked up about anything, preffering simply to make the best of any situation. The boy is actually very mature for his age, and his calm collected attitude makes him a sort of student guru – a lot of the kids will come to him with puzzles to solve, and if there isn't anything more pressiing on his agenda, Milly will happily oblige.
In terms of his school work, Milly approaches it with the same laid back methodical attitude he uses to handle everything – he will, at his own unhassled pace, work through each question until he has a right answer to each. But despite his clear intellectual talents, and much to his teachers' distress, Milly doesn't feel any need to do more than is required. He'll never push for extra credit or volunteer in class. He'll just sit there, without a word and without taking a single note – and a week later he'll hand in a perfect 100% test score.
His social life recieves the same unbothered approach. In terms of friends, Milly is pretty open. If someone wants to be his friend, then he has no complants. And he'll play the part well – he'll offer advice, go out shopping, keep an eye on a friend who has had too much to drink. He'll crack jokes, lauggh along, be as good a friend as you can hope for – but if you should turn aagainst him, or should a friend leave, then Milly can take it in his stride. A lost friend warrants the same reactionn as a lost cd: a shrug, and little more.
Milly is perhaps this single most aggriavating enemy you could have – he juust won't flinch. No mater what you might do – Milly won't care.
Equally aggriavating is his attitude to love: if a girl should happen to show him any affection, he won't complain – but neither will he show any real passion. You'd have to be a very very special lady for Milly to put up a fight for you. No, if a woman slips through Milly's fingers, he'll just tell you that it was good while it lasted, and move on.
The kid's pretty much bullet-proof. Or at least, he and everyone around him believes he is – but surely even the most well adjusted of children must have some torment deep down after living the life Milly has? Truth is, the boy is genuinely unscarred by his experiences of family – but the crash on the other hand has left him with a few real issues. His facial scarring is something which Milly deals with pretty well, and he hasn't let it affect his life at all – however, he has been left with a crippling fear of confined spaces and travel in cars, and being forced into either can trigger Milly's panic attacks: hi one and only weakness.
APPEARANCE
Milly is a striking guy to look at. His features are all chiselled in sharp angles and harsh lines, giving his face an almost hawkish look. His jaw line is strong and square, and quintessentially manly – in contrast to the almost effeminite rose pink of his plump lips. The eyes are sultry, heavy lidded pools of deep brown, and his hair is a unruly mop of chocolate waves. All in all he is a handsome man – which makes the scarring on his face even more distressing. The thick white spider-web of scar tissue runs from just beneath his left ear and travels up his cheek to a mere few milimetres from his eyes.
The boy is of a fairly average height, standing at 5'10, and is, whilst not skinny, more muscled than stout, as his dancing requires. His dress sense is -average – a shirt and jeans proving suitable for almost every situation. He also has a little bit of an obsession with knit wear, and so winter will always see him draped in woollen scarves, mittens or hats – which, obviously, looks absurd on his manly figure (though not nearlly as absurd as the sight of him knitting on a bus).
HISTORY
Flora Welts was never lucky in love. Short and podgy, she was always the last girl to be looked at it a crowd, with her freckles and unfortunate rabbit teeth. Life wasn't kind to her: she never made I big. She worked as a disposable asset for a large coorperation, always being moved up and down the country and never having the chanceto settle down and make her mark on the world. And then there was Mark Jenners. Mark was tall, tanned and strikingly handsome. He had his pick of the world's prettiest women, and for all that he was a travelling salesman he never felt left out: people fell in love with his easy charm in seconds, and he could make any place his home. And so, of course, it was a surprise for everyone when the pair met by chance at a train station and fell head over heels in love.
It was a whirlwind romance: Flora enchanted by the flashy and grandiose gifts that Mark showered her with, and Mark impressed by her independence and sense of huumor. They bought a shared appartment and were married within the year. Their first child, Mark Junior, was born the same year, and Milton a mere ten months after that. Of course, the marriage started to dissolve – Flora's insecurity and Mark's travel for work slowly wearing away at their relationship. Mark Jnr took the arguments pretty hard, hiding in his bedroom and refusing to eat at meals. Flora couldn't deal with it and Mark was always away, and so it fell to five year old Milly to look after his brother. Personally he felt fairly detached from the situation: he rarely saw his father, and as such felt very little attachment to him. It was this cool headed nature which got him seamlessly through hs parents divorce, when Mark Jnr went with his father, and Milly stayed with Flora. Despite the initial plan to stay in touch, Mark all but vanished, and they never saw him or Mark Jnr again.
Milly and Flora carried on as best they could. Milly missed his broher, but didn't take much notce of the fact. Flora, on the other hand, was distraught. Milly worked quietly on his school work and extra curicular dance, whilst Flora worked on emptying every drinks bottle in the house. The woman became more and more unstable, always drunk and hysterical. Milly pretty much looked after himself. He did his best by his mother, but could't help but feel that, really, they were her own problems. That was until she drove their car off the edge of the road with him in the passenger seat. They were both crushed when the car landed upside down, and whilst Flora simply passed out when she hit her head, Milly was left bleeding and in pain in the darkness, totally helpless. It took six hours for them to be found, and by that time there was little that could be done for Milly's face. It has been five years since then, and whilst Mily holds no hard feelings towards the woman for his facial scarring, he feels no positive feelings towards her either. They simply share a surname, nothing more. Milly didn't talk to her about GPA – he left without a word. These days the two never communicate, with exception to heir six monthly texts: and that is the way they both like it.
