PERSONALITY
Isabelle has always been a shy girl, she doesn't talk much unless she's first spoken to and even then it's hard to get her to say a lot. It's not that she doesn't have anything to say, but that she doesn't feel comfortable saying it. Group situations make her nervous and she often tries to avoid them all together. When she doesn't have a choice obviously she'll be in them but mostly she sits back quietly and lets everyone else do the talking. If someone tries to start a conversation with her she'll usually accidentally kill it because her awkwardness with the situation seems to just radiate to everyone else. If possible she prefers to have her camera with her, just so that she can hide behind it. Her camera is her protection from the rest of the world, it gives her a place to hide behind. Even in class she's mostly silent. When she knows the answer she simply thinks it but doesn't mention it out loud unless a professor asks her to. Group work is possibly her least favorite thing in the entire world, unless she gets to pick her partner and has a friend in the class.
Despite her shy and slightly awkward nature, Isabelle knows who she is. She knows what she stands for and what she believes, even if she does it silently. Despite that fact, she still has some self confidence issues, in her looks especially. She can never quite find anything that she feels confident in. Mostly, she tries not to attract attention to herself for that reason. If a bunch of people are looking at her at any point in time she'll wonder if there was something that she missed when she looked in the mirror last or if she put on her clothes backward or something. In her mind the only way a lot of people could be looking at her is if there's something wrong. A lot of times she wishes that she could change the way that she views things but can never quite figure out how to do so and therefore the same thought process continues on.
Once someone does make friends with Isabelle, which isn't an easy task, she is extremely loyal to them and true until the end. The few friends that she has would tell you that she'd gladly do anything that she could to help them. Behind all of her insecurities and troubles with people, she happens to care a whole lot about the ones that manage to get close. It takes a lot to earn her trust, but once it's earned it takes a lot to break it so someone has to screw up pretty badly for them to lose her trust and when they do it usually hurt her pretty badly. Then to gain trust back once it is lost, is an entirely different matter. Although she'll forgive pretty easily, it doesn't mean that she's going to forget just as quickly or even quickly at all. She has a good memory for the past when it comes to trying to trust someone again and that always works against the person who has done her wrong.
APPEARANCE
Isabelle probably could be considered average in her appearance, she's a far cry from the prettiest girl around but doesn't quite make it to the only side either. She's on the shorter side, standing at 5'1 1/2" she has curves in the right places and yet still remains fairly slim. Her features are well enough on their own, she just manages to downplay them quite a bit without even meaning to. She wears glasses over her bright blue eyes, despite the fact that she does own a pair of contacts. She also wears her dark brown hair in a pretty plain style that has a slight edge of messiness to it always present, not that she even does anything more to her hair than run a brush through it in the morning anyway.
As for her clothing choices, she sticks primarily to jeans and t-shirts of which she feels the most comfortable in. None of her clothes could ever really be considered tight on her, she doesn't own a single pair of skinny jeans, none of her shirts are low cut in any fashion and all of the shorts that she owns are bermuda and even then she tries avoiding wearing shorts around school as much as she can. It has to be some pretty hot weather for her to even consider pulling them out and wearing them. Showing off her body just isn't anything that she's interested in and even when she's forced to wear things that do - like bathing suits in gym - she manages to find some pretty conservative things to try and still keep it hidden as best as she could. She's certainly one of the girls that hides in the locker room when changing.
HISTORY
Joshua and Grace Young were married in their late twenties after attending college together at Northern Montana State University. Each of them shared a dream of owning a ranch, which they planned on accomplishing. To meet this goal they moved to St. Regis, a small town that they found the perfect ranch in. They had to put a lot of work into it to get it back into proper condition but after it was all said and done it was worth it, they had their dream place. Once that was established they decided to start their own family. In her late twenties Grace fell pregnant with Isabelle, much to the excitement of both parents and on March 3rd, 1992 the small girl joined the family. There was much concern over her in the fact that she was a month early, the doctors wanting to check everything to make sure that she was going to be alright. Luckily, in the end they found that the only thing wrong with her was that she was quite a bit smaller than an average baby without the extra time to grow.
Still, Grace and Joshua would worry a lot over the girl for her first year or so. One of the things that worried them most was the fact that she was a very silent baby, not crying all that often at all and not trying to 'talk' in the way that most babies did. They got her checked out a few times and the doctors simply concluded that she was just a quiet baby, nothing was wrong really. The attention was taken off of her quiet nature soon enough though, when Grace found out she was pregnant again. Of course the couple still paid attention to their young daughter but some focus obviously shifted and when she was two her younger sister Mikayla would be the last to join the family. Obviously with a new baby a lot of attention went to the younger girl, which Isabelle never had a problem with. She was never jealous of the time her parents spent with the new baby or upset about the fact that she now had to share her toys. If there was something that Mikayla wanted so let her have it and just found something else to hold her attention.
By the time that she started school Isabelle still wasn't very social. She didn't really talk to the other kids at school that much, not making friends with anyone in her class or playing with anyone at recess. Her teacher was worried about this fact and tried several times to try and get the girl to interact with other people, not that it ever worked. In the end, it was decided that her social skills just weren't good enough to be moved onto the first grade and that she would be stuck repeating Kindergarten, despite the fact that she was more than ready to move on based on how well she did with the educational part. So the next year she found herself in the same Kindergarten class all over again, having to do the same things that she had to do the previous year. This year held one difference though and she managed to find herself one friend out of the whole class whom she played with at recess and the next year they let her go onto first grade. This friend, named Madison, would be one of the only friends she'd keep throughout all of elementary school and then into middle school as well.
The one thing that she found herself enjoying she actually stumbled across by accident. At about age ten she saw the family camcorder laying around by itself, a bit bored she took it and began messing around with it to see how it worked. Once she figured it out she decided that she was going to make a little show, using the barbies that she had. She made up a story and was so into what she was doing that she didn't notice when her mom walked by the room and watched her for several minutes. When she did notice her she immediately apologized again for having taken the camera in the first place, afraid that her parents would be upset with her for messing with stuff. In fact, it was the exact opposite of what happened. Her mom was glad to see her displaying interest in something and decided to keep letting her use the camera. The more it went on it was obvious that she had talent for what she was doing and her parents agreed that they would put her into classes for it, hoping that it would also help her to make more friends. It didn't help her too much to make more friends, but it did help her to find a way to express herself a whole lot better.
When she was about fourteen she started looking into places that would allow her to be able to do even more with her films. She and Madison looked into every place that they could find to try and figure out where she could go. In the end it was between GPA and another school that she was really interested in. She sent out applications to each of them and waited anxiously for a reply. She got a letter of rejection from the other school and that didn't help her confidence about what would happen when she heard back from GPA but was amazed when she heard that she had gotten in and on partial scholarship as well. She was sad to leave behind her best - and really almost only - friend. The two of them had a sleep over the night before she was set to leave and it was then that she found out another important thing about herself when the two girls shared a kiss. It left Isabelle feeling a bit confused as she headed off for the school and during the course of her freshman year she realized that she did have a level of attraction to girls as well. Her and Madison stayed good friends in the end and never really talked about the kiss that was shared, acting like it didn't happen.
She managed to make very few friends during her first year of school, which was very good for her considering that on her first day she just about had a panic attack because of there being so many people she'd never seen before in her life. Coming from such a small town and heading into a city was a huge adjustment, but somehow she managed to make it and ended up liking it so much that she knew she was going back for her second year of high school - and every other year too, for that matter.
