PERSONALITY
Even though Beatrice could easily be deemed the quiet type, she is by no means a shy girl. She can be prone to acting very silly and excitedly when the occasion arises, but to be fair, it doesn't arises a lot. She's the kind of girl who prefers being on her own than hanging out in large crowds of people, and she'll take curling up with a book over going out to party any day. She's not a loner per say as she does have a few close friends, the closest of which is her older sister, but she doesn't see the point in hanging out with large groups of people. She can be classified of intellectual and bookworm, but that's not all there is to her. Though her grades matter a lot to her and she's a big fan of reading, she also loves going to movies and most activities that bring her outdoors. She is, however, not a fan of sports at all, especially if they involve any type of coordination as she does have a bit - okay, a big bit - of a clumsy side.
Though she's not loud spoken in general, she has a very argumentative side to her. She's very stubborn and rarely gives in to other people's points of view, and she doesn't often give them a chance to try and change hers either. She gets really upset when people try to push her into having an opinion that's not her own, and she'll defend her point of view endlessly if people allow her to. She's not necessarily someone you could qualify as sweet - and she if anyone tried to call her that, she would probably tell them they're mistaking her for her sister - but she's not a mean girl in any way, and she cares a lot about the people she gets close to, though sometimes she doesn't necessarily show it in the best of ways.
She's had very few best friends over the years, which comes from the fact that she doesn't always find it easy to approach other people or open herself up to them, but in spite of her faults, she has a knack with keeping people around when they do get to know her. She's got a bit of a temper to her, and she can be a little harsh on people when she's upset with them, but she's not too proud that she can't apologize when she knows she's made a mistake or said something wrong. However, she can be a bit of a grudge holder if people don't show her the same courtesy, but her grudges never last very long.
As far as relationships and boys go, she's about as inexperienced as can be. Of course, she'd had plenty of crushes, but since she's not necessarily the type of girl teenage boys will go for and she herself doesn't approach guys a lot, she's often been forced to admire from afar. She's never been on a date and has never kissed anyone, but she doesn't feel too discouraged about it. She knows there's plenty of time before she needs to even start worrying about it.
APPEARANCE
Beatrice has never considered herself to be a beauty queen, but she has no reason to envy other girls either. She's got flawless ivory skin that doesn't tend to tan too much but doesn't really burn either, and smooth dark red hair that hangs past her shoulders, when it's not pulled back in a ponytail. She doesn't really style it much, but thankfully, it has a natural look to it that's straight without getting frizzy or flat. Long, dark eyelashes frame her blue eyes and her full lips have a natural pink tint to them. Her nose is a little more on the long side, but though she's not entirely unconcerned by her appearance, she's accepting of her flaws.
She's always been a bit more on the skinny side, and she's lucky enough that she doesn't really have to work out for it - she has a naturally fast metabolism, which is a family trait. She's not particularly tall, standing at an average height of 5'4", and as she tends to avoid wearing any type of heels, she rarely adds to her inches. She's the type of girl who goes for comfort before style, but she's not a tomboy and tries to add a touch of feminity to all her outfits. She loves her jeans probably more than any other article of clothing in her closet, and her sneakers are old and worn but she can't bring herself to get rid of them. She doesn't accessorize much, but she's got a few key items that she loves and wears on occasion.
HISTORY
Danielle Howles met Gregory Fletcher in her early twenties, on the first day of her internship at the United Nations in Washington D.C. Their first meeting was rather unmemorable - he was a security guard on duty and she was looking for direction, which he assisted her with. The second time around stuck in their mind a little more, as she collided with him while running to make it to her office on time, spilling a steaming hot cup of coffee on him while she was at it. She apologized dozens of time, and he told her he would forgive her if she allowed him to get her another coffee later. She agreed, and through their hectic schedules they managed to meet up one evening in a nearby coffee shop after work. They stayed there until closing time, talking, laughing and not noticing as the hours went by, until they were almost kicked out of the place and he realized he had to be in at work in less than six hours. They parted unwillingly still with a tentative kiss on the cheek from him to her, and their relationship quickly evolved from that point on. She soon fell heels over head in love with him, and he quite freely returned the feeling. The day her internship finished and she was offered a position in the human resource department she'd been assisting in, he proposed to her, and less than a year later they were married.
They took the time to get settled and to get their respective careers moving in the direction they wanted it to before they started talking of having children. They'd been married a little under two years when she got pregnant, giving birth to a daughter in October 1992 whom they named Alice. They'd already established beforehand to wait until their first child was about three years old before trying another time, wanting a good gap of time between the two, but as life would have it, Alice had just turned one when Danielle found that she was pregnant again. Though a little taken aback at the unexpected surprise, they embraced it quite happily, and thus Beatrice Eve was born on the 17th of June 1994. They were a bit anxious at first that a newborn would be a tad intense when their eldest was about to enter the well known 'terrible two', but they were lucky. Alice was too sweet tempered to ever seriously misbehave, and Beatrice herself was a quiet baby as far as crying and fussing went, though she always seemed ahead of her age with every milestone she crossed.
The two little girls, though closeness in age usually leads to an argumentative type of relationship, grew close and became the best of friends through their childhood. It was clear from a young age that they had very different types of personality, but they complemented one another. Alice was the kind of child who would make friends at any occasion, trusting and kind, never raising her voice at anyone and always calmly considering a situation, whereas Beatrice would be more the type to do her own things rather than mingle, which lead to her not having too many friends. She was content with that though, much preferring reading to playing. It was clear from the start of her school years that she was a bright, ambitious child, and her parents always knew she would achieve to much in life. They were a little concerned with how often she found herself to be alone though, and they tried to do things to encourage her to make friends, like having her take various classes - most of which were physical oriented and ended up being disastrous, as through all of her skills, coordination was not one of her forte.
Through those efforts to get her to make more friends, they succeeded in one thing - helping her to discover her passion in film making. She was nine at that time, and as soon as her parents got her a camera of her own rather than the one she had to leave behind every week at her classes, she started filming practically 24/7. That summer would mark the very first time she would spend an extended amount of time away from her family as she headed off to a filmmaking camp for a couple of weeks. She was a bit hesitant to leave home at first, but by the end of the fortnight, she didn't even want to come back. As she grew, she soon became quite sure that the path she would take in her future would involve film making of some sort, but college seemed too far away and her weekly classes were not enough anymore. She started looking into high schools that would allow her to study what she loved, if only as an extra curricular activity, and she felt like she'd hit the jackpot when she came across the website for Gordon Parks' Academy for the Arts, reading up on the film making program with practically hungry eyes before showing it to her parents. They agreed to her applying quite willingly once they found what kind of an education she would receive, and knowing that she was serious and responsible enough to go away from home. Alice, though saddened at the thought of seeing her kid sister and best friend leave for such long periods of time, was also very supportive of the idea, knowing how much Beatrice loved her film making.
The application was sent as soon as was permitted, and then came the waiting period, which seemed almost unbearable. She was starting to seriously doubt she would ever get in, though she was the only one in the family to ever have those doubts, when one day she came home from school to be greeted with a thick, orange enveloppe waiting for her on the dining room table. She screamed out in happiness as she read the letter inside of it, jumping up and down around the table as she found out that she had been accepted, and it took her parents a good ten minutes to calm her down enough to make her realize it was still a few months before she would actually need to pack her bags. She seemingly listened, but every evening from then on, she placed one item in her suitcase, eager to start on her new journey.
