Today was a huge day. Graduation Day and to be honest, Mandy was really surprised that this day had even come so quickly. It felt like just the other day that she had been walking into the school for her first day and now today, she'd be walking off of it on her last day. The school had held so many amazing memories too, had shaped her into the person that she was today. The innocent, judgmental, modest girl that had first stepped onto the campus seeing everything in black and white was long gone and in her place stood a confident, tolerant, young woman who was engaged to the love of her life and months away from getting married. She'd made her best friends here, met the love of her life, learned more than she'd ever thought was possible and yet, despite all of that, she didn't know if she was ready to leave. How she could leave? Her whole life was going to change and while she was excited about some of those changes, she knew that it was going to be hard to leave it all behind. Leave her friends behind, leave her favorite teachers behind and just move on.
The thought of leaving Roxie behind was the hardest. The other girl was getting married soon and she was going to be her maid of honor, as Roxie would be her maid of honor, but obviously she had a different plan for where she was going to live than Mandy did. The thought of not being able to see the other girl all the time was terribly hard and she was already really emotional because of everything else. Once her first friend got called up, she started to feel herself start getting choked up. By the time that Roxie's name got called though, she was actually crying, though she clapped for the other girl anyway because she was proud of her. Trying to calm herself down because she knew that she still had to go up later. When her name finally got called much further down the list, she took the stage and managed not to cry while getting her diploma. Feeling proud of herself, but the sadness was overpowering and by the time she was back in her seat, she had tears running down her face for the rest of the ceremony. Trying to wipe them away when it finally ended.
