Getting back to school was sort of weird for Amanda. She'd missed all of her friends while she'd been home, but she had to admit that she'd had a great summer with Ben, too. In fact, she'd been sad when they'd parted ways. However, they both knew that long distance wouldn't work out between them. Still, it brought her down a little as she unpacked her boxes, wondering how long it was going to be before she just got over it. There'd been a good chemistry between the two of them, he was talented and smart and it was just fun. Sighing, she took a seat on the bed and pulled out her phone, tempted to call him and just talk. It was weird not to talk to him after the whole summer of being together. So, she did it, pressing the button and smiling as the guy answered. Chatting with him and falling back on her bed, staring at the ceiling as they joked around and laughed. Biting down on her bottom lip as Ben asked her after about twenty minutes if she was sure that she wasn't interested in trying something long distance.
Was she sure? She thought she had been, but Ben was a great guy. After a moment's hesitation she nodded and told him that she was sure, apologizing to him about it but promising that she still wanted their original friend agreement to stand. Able to tell he was a bit disappointed and feeling so herself, but she knew that even though she liked Ben, her interest in him wasn't likely to stay so strong with the distance between them and the time that she would be gone. Once they were finished with the call, she hung up and stayed laying back on her bed with a sigh. Glancing up at the ceiling and considering calling someone else to get her mind off of this. However, none of her friends were going to be there until the next day - well, Mel was around, but she was hanging out with Beth. Instead, she pulled herself up and decided to keep unpacking, getting her clothes out and starting to put them in the closet and her dresser. Wondering if she was going to meet her roommate today or if she was going to end up meeting the girl later.
