When Cassandra had first pictured her moving day, a few years back, she hadn't exactly pictured it like this. Of course, she'd known that the moment she graduated high school, she would move out of her parents' house for good and find an apartment of her own to live in, and so far, so good. What she hadn't expected was the fact that she was not only moving in with someone rather than by herself, that someone just so happened to be her fiance - and that was definitely the most unexpected things of all. Cass had never really been the type to yearn for marriage in a very strong fashion. To her, it wasn't much more than a piece of paper that legally binded you to someone else, and nowadays, you just had to live with someone a certain amount of time to be considered in a common law marriage and get all the same legal rights as you did by actually marrying them, without the hassle of the wedding itself. However, that was not exactly Owen's mindset on the whole institution, that much had already been established a while ago, and if anything she'd pretty much tricked herself into this situation.
Not that she felt she was to blame, it hadn't exactly been an easy situation to handle, and she was pretty sure that anybody else would have done the same thing in her place. She didn't like thinking back on it though, mostly blocking the memories of that night, aside from the fact that it was the reason for the ring on her left ring finger. And she wasn't upset or annoyed over being engaged, it wasn't that - nor did she doubt that she wanted to spend the rest of her life with Owen. She was very happy to be moving in with him and planning a future with him. Wedding just wasn't at the top of her priority list. It was pretty close to the bottom as far as she was concerned, though still a good way up from having kids. Which unfortunately for her, were two things that took a prime spot on Owen's list. At least he wasn't unreasonable to the point of expecting kids any time soon - after all, she'd only just graduated high school. Moving out to her very first apartment with her fiance was a big enough step as far as she was concerned, and she was pretty sure it would satisfy her for a while in terms of big life events. Which, putting plates and cups away in a cupboard wasn't exactly exciting per say, at least not until she set the very last one away. "Ugh, finally," she spoke as she folded the last of the cardboard boxes labeled 'kitchen', throwing it on the pile and closing the cupboard door.
