Jessica was always one for new experiences - she was adventurous, and she didn't generally say no to something without giving a try first. However, some experiences had a way of happening by themselves, and that was exactly what had happened tonight. She hadn't gone out with the intention of getting drunk. Mel was spending the evening with Olivier, and Amanda had a date of her own, so when Quinn had asked if she wanted to go out, she'd figured she might as well say yes. Besides, she'd just gone through one of the weirdest weeks of her life, she felt like she deserved to have a bit of fun. Homecoming had been a disaster, and past that Jessa had apparently taken it upon herself to spend every lunch hour with Porter - which had caused her to eat with her friends instead on Monday and Tuesday, until he had pretty much questioned her absence, and Wednesday had been... interesting, to say the least. If anything though, it definitely had served to give a pretty clear vibe that Porter's interest in the other girl was pretty slim to none, and though she knew that didn't necessarily mean anything in terms of how they might spend time together outside of school hours, it was a bit of a consolation prize.
Things were starting to take an edge of normal back though, and the moping weekend had definitely served its purpose to put some pep back in her step. And her usual upbeat and cheerful personality had gotten her quite a bit of attention after Quinn had sneaked them inside the Hurricane - which just went to say how lousy the security was, seeing as nobody could mistake her as anything but a minor, but oh well. The evening had started out pretty well, but Jess' inexperience with alcohol had definitely been at fault here as round after round was offered and bought up for her and her friend, and by the time she realized the pounding in her head and feeling of dizziness didn't come from the club atmosphere, she was pretty much drunk and done for. And that was the moment Quinn chose to excuse herself to the bathroom, leaving Jess alone at a table until she received a text from the other girl, letting her know she was going off with a super cute guy and wishing her a great rest of her evening. Frowning a bit and not noticing the flashing empty battery bar at the top, she looked around and got back to her feet, only to have the way blocked by a guy that easily towered over her. "Hey, how would you like to have a drink with me?" he offered, holding out two cups of what she assumed to be beer, and that was sketchy enough to make her want to get out of there. She wasn't dumb enough to accept a drink from a stranger at a bar.
Excusing herself, she made her way out of the club as fast as she could in view of her slight lack of balance, and it was when she pulled her phone back out of her clutch to call a cab that she realized it had just died on her. Great - the last bit of her battery had gone to receive a text from someone who had ditched her. She stood in place for a few seconds, trying to establish the best course of action at this point, soon deciding she might as well just walk - somehow establishing it would be better to get back to the Academy on foot than to try and ask someone else if she could borrow their phone. Shivering from the cooler temperature as she started on her way, not having grabbed a coat as she'd figured she wouldn't be spending much time outside anyway, she rubbed her hands against her arms lightly in an attempt to warm them up, soon tripping over her own feet and catching herself against a lamp post with a light swear, reaching down to take her shoes off. Figuring cold feet would be better than a sprained ankle as she went on her way.
