Mikayla was probably a lot more excited than Nick as they reached the mall, but she couldn't help it. Izzy's baby shower was only a week away now, and she still had a bunch of things to buy - decorations, games, refreshments, and of course presents. She hadn't purposely left it until the last minute, but things had been pretty busy since the beginning of the school year, and the upcoming week would be no different. As such, she'd decided not to push it off any longer seeing as she was caught up with her school work today, so might as well take advantage of that fact. She'd mentioned it to Nick the previous night, mentioning off handedly that she might need to as for someone to accompany her as she didn't know how much she would need to get and if she would need help to get everything back to the Academy, and of course, being the complete sweetheart he was, he has offered himself. Which she was planning on making up to him, because although she was sure to fawn over adorable baby clothes, she was pretty sure he wouldn't be quite as affected at the sight of it all.
She started things off easy by heading over to the dollar store, gathering a few simple things here and there such as streamers, banners, paper plates and cups, the usual generic decorations for a baby shower, though she had a few ideas in mind on how to make it look better. Also grabbing a few random things for the typical baby shower games, she brought the whole of it to the cashier up front, a bit too excited about the thought of getting actual presents next to noticed the judgemental look she was getting, though she probably wouldn't have cared even if she'd noticed it, because really, who bought the stuff for their own baby shower? Not to mention, she was clearly not pregnant. Grabbing the couple of bags once it was all paid for, she dragged Nick over to the next store on her list, eager to buy some nice things for her sister but also for her little goddaughter. Sighing in a bit of a longing fashion as she looked over the adorable little dresses and outfits once they reached the baby department of the store. "I can't wait to have one," she thought out loud, picking up a super soft plushie off a nearby shelf and hugging it to herself.
