Jade's morning had started out in the usual way. She'd disentangled herself from Amanda's embrace carefully so not to wake the sophomore up, had changed into her running gear, grabbed her iPhone and earphones and had walked out the door at about a quarter to six. Figuring that gave her a good forty five minutes to an hour of jogging time, she'd set off on her usual route, going off the school grounds and heading on her way to Loose Park. The walking trail made it perfect for running in the morning, and it was just close enough to the Academy that she could make it there and back in a timely fashion without having to waste too much of her jogging time on the actual getting there and back part. Not that it mattered that much, running was running, but on a trail she at least didn't have to stop at street corners or anything like that. Besides, she wanted to make the most of the time she had left before it would start snowing, and then running outside would a lot trickier. The school gym was open in the morning, so she did her running there in the Winter time, but she still much preferred being able to run outside.
She was about halfway through her work out when it got interrupted in a less than pleasant fashion. With her music on, she didn't hear the screeching sound of a bicycle making a wrong turn, and she didn't realize it was headed her way until the full on collision happened. Letting out a light shriek of surprise and falling to the side in a last ditch effort to get out of the way, causing her to fall stomach first against the arm rest of a bench, her head hitting the top corner of it before she actually fell to the ground, her iPhone dropping out of her pocket at the same time. Trying to take a few calming breaths as she lay on the cold asphalt, moving slightly to pull her earphones out of her ears as the other person got off his bike with minimal damage, rushing to her side and apologizing, offering to help her back up. It was only then that the searing pain coursed her abdomen, causing her to yelp in pain as she lay herself back down, tears coming to her eyes as she forced herself to take deep breaths. Hardly even listening as the man who'd collided with her pulled out his cell phone to call an ambulance, wanting to tell him it was unnecessary, she was probably fine, just a bit bruised, but another stubborn attempt at sitting up made her realize that maybe a trip to the hospital to make sure nothing was broken wouldn't be a luxury right now.
