So, pregnancy wasn't a pickle. Addie hadn't expected it to be, of course, but there were definitely some aspects to it that she would have gladly done without. Overall though, she knew she couldn't complain, because she had been blessed with a pretty decent one. The first few months hadn't brought forth any morning sickness, and the main difference between her usual behavior and her pregnant behavior during her second trimester had been how horny she had been, which Connor had definitely not complained about. She'd had a few food cravings, but nothing ridiculous - mostly just a lot of chocolate. She'd probably gone through an obnoxious amounts of jars of chocolate spreads in the past few months, and she had gotten Connor to go get her some raspberry sorbet in the middle of the night at least a couple of times. Aside from that though, the first two thirds of her pregnancy had gone great, and she'd felt in good shape. When the third trimester had hit, it hadn't gotten much worse, but there had been a few elements to make it a lot less pleasant, namely swollen feet and achy back as her belly grew more and more.
She'd been able to deal with all of that pretty patiently, and the fake contractions that had started becoming more and more frequent too. This part week, however, had definitely not been her favorite. Her little boy's due date was nine days past now, and her doctor had advised that she should be induced if he didn't show up within the next couple of days. She was definitely hoping he wouldn't be stubborn enough to stick in though, because at this point, waiting two more days was about two days too many. If the regular forty weeks of pregnancy had gone well, the prolonged part was not something she was a fan of, at all, and it made her feel very uncomfortable and agitated - as well as a little annoyed. Which was why, when a contraction hit in the middle of her taking a shower, she felt a surge of energy and hope that this was it. Getting out and drying herself off before putting her clothes on, not telling Connor right away as she didn't want to get him all freaked out if it was a false alarm. It took another half hour of the contractions getting stronger and closer together for her to decide that this might actually be time. "Connor, it's time to go!" she called out to him from the living room.
