Porter was a bit uncertain as he made his way over to Jessica's dorm. He'd been out walking for about an hour, trying to decide what was the right thing to do and getting progressively more and more annoyed with the fact that he was having such a hard time figuring it out. The fact of the matter was that he did care about Jessica, so knowing that she wasn't doing well still made it that much harder to rationalize the idea that he might have done the right thing. And, unfortunately, as Melanie had pointed out to him, he hadn't actually put Jess in any danger on the day of the lockdown. Sure, there was the possibility that he might have with his actions but he hadn't so it was sort of a moot point. He still wasn't sure that he was even the right guy for her, that his presence in her life would make it any better. But then it got further, into the fact that he was pretty sure that Georgie would probably hit him upside the head if she was still alive to do so, since he was also pretty sure that she would have approved of the writer.
Overall, it had just made for a giant headache until he decided that he at least had to talk to Jessica again, if she would let him or wasn't too upset with him. He missed having her around, it made his life oddly silent without her presence and he wanted that to be fixed. Or, rather, he wanted to try and fix it. If nothing else, he wanted to apologize again properly so to help her move on if that was still what she wanted. Still, he found himself strangely nervous as he walked the halls to her dorm. Standing outside the door for a moment and just waiting, wondering if he should just turn around and leave. But no, he'd done enough debating and he might as well just go ahead and get it over with. Knocking on the door, but unlike last time when he'd just gone in, he went ahead and waited for an answer. If he were to believe Melanie and Amanda and what they were trying to spout at him, she should be there, but there was no saying that was true and he didn't want to just barge in when he was no longer her boyfriend.
