The past couple of months had been fairly eventful for Fred. The end of year at college had been pretty packed, although it'd been nothing new to him, having grown accustomed to the Academy's workload. Tiffy had had her own share of last projects to complete for her Senior year, and then graduation had come along. She'd had to go back home briefly, but she hadn't stayed long - basically, long enough to get all her things packed up and sent back to Kansas City, which he and Cassidy had assisted with physically and monetarily. Tiffany had, of course, moved in with him, which was definitely nice, but not exactly an adjustment. She'd been over so much since he had moved into his apartment that it'd almost already felt like she unofficially lived here. Now they'd just made it official. And now that things were starting to settle back down a little, all her things put away in their proper place, there was something else he needed to make official. He'd been working on it for a little while, because it wasn't something he could just mess up, that he was well aware of. For one thing, he wanted to make it as special as possible - for another thing, if he did mess it up, he was pretty sure he'd never hear the end of it, and that wasn't exactly the best way to start things off in the next step of their relationship.
Upon waking up this morning, he'd made sure that everything would be in order for the rest of the day. He'd gotten up a couple of hours earlier than usual, though he hadn't specifically done so to sneak out - he'd told Tiffy the evening before that he'd have a few errands to run the next day which might take a couple of hours. He was still quiet as he grabbed his overnight bag and brought it out to the living room, so he could make sure he wasn't missing anything. Reaching in the closet to take out a bag he'd prepared for Tiffy as well, putting it on the dining room table so she wouldn't miss it, putting her purse next to it, making sure her wallet was still in there, and putting a few bills in case of emergency. He then headed back to the bedroom to quietly get dressed, pressing a light kiss to his girlfriend's forehead and telling her he would see her later. She barely stirred, and her sleepy voice as she somewhat answered let him know she'd probably just roll over and go right back to sleep. He grabbed his bag before exiting the apartment, locking the door behind him and making his way downstairs to wait for his ride, having wanted to make sure they wouldn't ring the bell. Getting in as the driver pulled up, and sitting back as he started heading to the airport. By the time Tiffy woke up, he'd be on a plane, and the same driver would be making his way back to pick her up. Timing was the one thing he'd been most careful about, so he really hoped there wouldn't be any delays to mess it up.
