PERSONALITY
Sarcastic is putting it lightly when it comes to Holly. Often it's impossible to tell whether or not she's serious as it is rare that her words don't have a sarcastic edge to them. Despite her constant sarcasm and remarks that often seem a bit heartless, she happens to be one of the most genuine people around her friends. It's as if she's a completely different person to those who are close to her, though she still tends to act the same around them in public once they aren't in public anymore she becomes a completely different person. Which of course makes some people think that she's a very fake person and in some ways she is, however she simply prefers to hide behind her sarcasm then actually face the world. The way that she is around her friends shows off her vulnerabilities, which she hates so it isn't easy to become someone that she considers a good enough friend to be vulnerable around. She is scared of her vulnerabilities and always worries that someone will use them against her, she figures that it is better to be strong and hated then weak and well-liked.
People often refer to her as an outspoken bitch because she is extremely blunt. On top of making sarcastic remarks where they are often unneeded, she voices her opinion always. Which leads her into some trouble with people, she doesn't have that effective filter of what to keep inside the head and what to say out loud that most others have. So whether it be good or bad, if she's got an opinion on something then you'll hear it. Most people avoid talking around her all together because of it as not very many people seem to like having other peoples input constantly put in when they didn't ask for it. She doesn't really care about that though and isn't about to change who she is to make people who don't even like her happy. For each person that she comes across that doesn't seem to like her protected exterior it makes her even more guarded about her true self. Showing less and less of it to her friends, which sometimes causes her to loose them in the process.
Extremely opinionated and picky it is hard to find something that Holly likes right off the bat, on top of the fact that she doesn't like to try much unless she is absolutely forced, it all adds up to her liking very few things and liking them only because she has grown used to them. She has regular places that she goes to eat when she goes out and has regular orders that she gets as well, it is very rare that she will stray from her set things. If she does, people who know her well often wonder if anything is wrong. She likes routine and is not unhappy with the one that she has set herself. It gives her more control over her life, which is something that she wants a lot of anyway. She figures that her routine does just that because she can do what she wants and not be taken off guard as much, nor will she be thrown off as easily either. When surprises do happen it completely messes her up and she isn't quite always sure how to handle it. She usually just tries to ignore it and get everything back to the way that she thinks it should be.
APPEARANCE
Standing at 5'6", 115 pounds, fair skinned, blonde, and blue-eyed many say that Holly has a beauty that just doesn't match up with her personality. Her hair often just stays how it naturally is - curly, she doesn't try and do anything with it other then throw it up in a quick pony tail nor does she bother straightening it every morning it would be a waste of time in her opinion. Though many people find her curls to look better on her then straightened hair anyway. It is rare to have a smile cross her face, instead most of the time an annoyed expression resides there naturally. When thinking or daydreaming she just comes across looking annoyed, which usually keeps people from approaching her. Those who do get to see her smile often tell her frequently that if she smiled more that she'd probably come across better to people. She ignores them though, just like the comments about her tanning mostly because she burns and never actually tans.
You'd probably see her dead before you would see Holly in a skirt or dress, especially if it had frills or lace. She instead is very partial to wearing jeans or sweatpants, which she chooses upon how she's feeling that day. To go with either set of pants she throws on a t-shirt, usually black. Most of the time her shirts happen to be solid colors (mostly black or blue) but when they do have something on it usually it's an advertisement for one of her favorite bands that most people haven't really heard of or listened to. She prefers to wear flip-flops to any other type of shoe and will even do so when there is a foot of snow outside, as she doesn't mind showing off her small size six feet to everyone.
Make-up is something that Holly always has on, she has an eyeshadow on at all times that matches whatever color she happens to be wearing and also is always wearing eyeliner. Other then that though she doesn't wear any other type of makeup as she sees the rest of it as all just a waste of her time in the morning. If she has an important event that she has to dress up for she might manage to throw on some lip gloss. The only other thing that could be noted are her nails, which are kept quite long and are painted frequently. Usually in very bright colors, or in black if she was having one of her days when she painted them. So also paints her toe nails because of her flip-flop wearing tendencies.
HISTORY
In Los Angeles, California on February 15th, 1990 at 12:34 am Holly Edwards was born to parents Marchel and Diane Edwards, though she wasn't celebrated for that long because five minutes later her twin sister Victorya was born. Her parents were of course ecstatic about the two newest additions. The first couple of weeks were very hard on the couple though and they often confused the two girls around quite a bit, to a point where they just started labeling the cradles for which twin was which. As they started to grow up each began to develop their own distinct personalities and styles, however they were often grouped together by people and it wasn't ever something that really bothered Holly. She had no problem being grouped with her twin sister and doing things with her, she actually thought it was kind of cool because it was something that her friends from around the neighborhood couldn't say that they had a twin. The two of them got along quite well and neither Holly nor Victorya tried to step up and be the twin that was noticed, something that pleased their parents very much.
However, that all changed when they started going to school together. At school Victorya managed to blend in a lot better with the other children and was instantly liked, while Holly had a bit more trouble. Victorya seemed to demand the attention of those around her and held herself with a lot of pride, while Holly on the other hand was very quiet and tried not to make a big deal out of herself. She didn't manage to make really any friends because people wanted to always be around Victorya. She tried to be around her sister but found that even her sister ignored her at school, though at home she'd apologize for doing so. Holly's parents often worried about Holly because of her lack of friends, but thought that it was probably just something that would correct itself with time. That wasn't the case though and Holly remained having no real friends and just a few acquaintances. As school progressed she kept mostly to herself and simply worked as well as she could on her work not that she got much recognition for her hard work from anyone because Vikki often took to copying her work so everyone just thought that both of them did well. Which made Victorya get even more attention and took what little Holly would have had away from her.
By the time that they'd reached fifth grade Holly was tired of being ignored and constantly being called her sister's name. She decided that she would do something that would separate herself from her twin distinctly, so she went out one night and got a thing of black hair dye and dyed her hair. Her parents were less then thrilled when they found out about their daughter's new look, but with her new look came a new personality too. She surprised everyone at the school not only with her new hair but with her bluntness and new found sarcasm. It served it's purpose though and she was soon her own distinct person different from her twin sister. Surprisingly enough to her it also got her some new friends. She got along well with them and she even allowed her persona to slip off around them also, they seemed to actually like and accept her which made her extremely happy, they even understood why she did what she had done and were very supportive of her in her search to be different then her sister.
These friends that she made actually ended up being the way that she started in film. She was over at one of their houses and they all decided that it would be fun to make a video, everyone wanted to be in it except for Holly. Therefore Holly got elected as the camera person, she actually enjoyed doing it a lot and wanted to do more. She was allowed to edit it too once her friend showed her how and she found that she enjoyed that too. She made a few more movies with her friends, but still she wanted to do more, so she had her parents, family and friends just get her money for her birthday and for Christmas, after both had passed she'd found that she had enough money to get a pretty decent video camera, she was thrilled and couldn't wait to get it going. She made loads of different short films, and was very content with just doing it as something for fun through middle school. She didn't actually even know if she could go any further with it then that. But that was before she heard about Gordon Parks'. She heard about it from her friend's older sister who had gotten a full scholarship to the school for creative writing. Once she heard that there was a film section available she knew that she had to go. She begged her parents, but they told her that they didn't have to that kind of money and that it would be a shot in a million to be able to get a scolarship but allowed her to apply anyway.
They were all surprised when she got her acceptance letter to the school, though Victorya was unhappy that her twin had managed to stand out so well. Holly said goodbye to her family for her freshmen year and headed off to the school. She managed to do well in her classes but if anything became more sarcastic and blunt along the way. She is very passionate about film though and it is evident in the way that she does her work. (She also has a bit of a crush on the professor though she knows that he's taken, which probably helps her to do well in the classroom when it's not behind the camera). She loves the school and has managed to make herself comfortable over the years, but is especially anxious for the start of her final year there.
