PERSONALITY
Will was brought up to be all things proper and right. He was taught to be well mannered, a gentleman, smart, successful and that someday he would take over his father's business and marry a girl that he had gone to country club with all his life. And when he needs to be, he can be the perfect example of everything he's been brought up to know. He can sit through brunches and parties and smile and talk about his future as the owner of a company with a wife and probably only one kid, since that would be all that was necessary. His parents have absolutely no worries about where he's going to be or what he's doing to do with his future they think that of everyone around them their son has the best chance of actually following the set plan in front of him without any problems.
What they don't know, is just how wrong they are about that. The lifestyle that his parents want for him isn't one that he wants and he often rebels against it, just not in manners that he allows to get public. He enjoys to go out and party and do things that are just a bit illegal, hang out with the people that he knows his parents would have a heart attack over if they knew he was hanging around them and that definitely includes girls. The thought of ending up with a girl that is all proper with dreams of having money for absolutely nothing and planning social events for the rest of their lives aren't appealing to him. He loves pushing a situation to see just how far he can go and still be able to justify it as something that he could do without getting into any trouble. Somehow he has a talent of changing even the worst looking situations into ones that are far more acceptable. However if he ever gets into a situation where he can't manage to justify what he was doing he isn't afraid to throw someone else under the bus if that's what is needed to be done. His parents often threaten that if they knew he was doing anything they disapproved of they'll disinherit him and since that's not something he wants, there is the reason he behaves as he does.
He likes his rebel image - well, as rebel as it gets cause he really doesn't happen to look the part so much but he can sure act it at times. And therefore he doesn't share his reasons for some of the things that he does. After all, it wouldn't look very good for his reputation if everyone knew just how much power his parents had over his actions all because he didn't want to get cut off of his money. Actually he doesn't tell people much about his home life at all, preferring to leave it a mystery for others to try and piece together. Not very many people get it right though. There's not exactly anything deep or dark about being the oldest and only child to rich blue-blooded parents who give him anything that he happens to want with just a simple word. The only thing that most people happen to know pretty obviously is that he does come from a family of money, since he doesn't try and hide that fact.
He has a tendency to just spend money on whatever he wants to, since his parents had given him a credit card by the time that he was thirteen. The exact reason behind it was to buy things that he needed to actually needed but they don't ever check to see what purchases that he's made, figuring that they can trust him to use it responsibly. It's a rarity that he ever does use it in such a manner, but he's smart enough to only spend enough money that it doesn't look like he's blowing it on whatever it is that he wants. Sometimes he'll actually get asked about what it was that he bought by his parents but he always has a list of things ready to pull out and use as excuses depending on just how much money that he's spent for the month. His parents don't care enough to ask very often though so they never seem to notice that the things he's supposedly buying are all the same each time.
APPEARANCE
Will doesn't envy anyone else when he looks into the mirror in the morning since he knows that he's a bit of a cry away from being in the slightest unattractive. Standing exactly at the 6' mark with light brown hair, bright blue eyes and a white smile complete with a dimple he's got a pretty good look to appeal to lots of different types of girls. His look can vary from time to time, depending on what he's wearing and how he keeps his hair and facial hair managed. Sometimes he can manage to fit the rebel look pretty much to a tee and other times he is the furthest cry from it that you can get. Mostly he likes to keep his hair done in a slightly messy fashion, yet somehow still looking neat and tries to keep a more of a stubble look going rather than a full out beard.
His wardrobe is quite vast, since he owns a lot of more classy clothes - that his parents always make sure he has around - as well as a pretty good abundance of casual clothes that he usually has to buy himself. He usually tends to wear the more casual stuff around school, things like t-shirts or sometimes polo shirts and jeans with a pair of Converse. Although he likes to make it look like he's put little to no effort into his appearance - except when going to parties or formal events - usually it still does take him a bit of time to sort through his clothes to find what he wants to wear.
HISTORY
At age 17, Robin Dixie met William Aldridge Jr. aged 20, at a social gathering hosted by her parents at the time she had no idea he would be the guy that she would someday marry and that someday wasn't too far away. At the time of the party William was seriously involved with another girl whom everyone believed that he had plans to marry. However, also at the time of the party the other woman was out of the country and had been for a couple of weeks, so for lack of action William approached Robin in hopes of maybe having a one night stand with her or something. They did end up doing so and managed to keep it low key without drawing too much attention to the fact that it had happened. It wasn't until a month or two later when William Jr. got a call from her informing him that she was pregnant that things started getting a bit dicey. William Jr. a bit lost and confused turned to his father, William Sr. to try and figure out what he should do. The first thing that they did was to make sure that Robin was really pregnant and when it was confirmed that she was it was decided that the two of them would have to marry immediately.
Of course the shotgun wedding was thought very tacky by most of the people in their social group and rumor didn't take too long to spread that Robin was expecting a baby. In true upper class tradition though no one mentioned any of their feelings about any of it in public and all happily attended the wedding. Robin and William Jr. weren't exactly the happiest couple around and were still a bit awkward once they were married in living together but they managed to deal with it. Robin stayed home and prepared for the baby that was coming while William went to school full time still, spending minimal time at home and working hard on his studies. Robin did get a bit lonely from time to time without having anyone around but she comforted herself with the presence of the house help and the small baby growing inside of her.
On March 30, 1991 in Scranton, Pennsylvania William Quinton Aldridge III would come to finally join into the household. He would, from before he could even really do anything more than basic bodily functions, be taken into social gathering after social gathering as he grew up. From the very beginning he was shoved together with all the other kids of his parent's formal friends and expected to hang out with them. It wasn't like he had much choice, as a small child he couldn't say anything against actually having people to play with instead of just toys and then once he got to the age of actually starting school he was put into the same schools as the other kids he'd grown up with. All of them going to private school even from Kindergarten, their parents not trusting public schools anymore than they trusted their spouses not to cheat on them. So he grew to like the friends that were forced upon him, at least they all understood how he felt about his home life and the things that were forced upon him.
One of the things that was forced upon him at around age five was piano lessons. He had trouble sitting still at that age and hated having to learn the stuffy instrument, but his mother insisted that it was the right thing for him to learn and that all people should know how to play a musical instrument. He learned the piano over time and found that he did actually enjoy playing it quite a bit. Whenever he was upset at some choice his parents made for him - whether it was where he was supposed to go for a day or what he was supposed to wear or learn next - he found himself taking his frustrations out into the music. It worked very effectively and as he grew older he had to start playing more and more, as his parents started doing things like setting up dates for him at age thirteen. Of course, he also found some other ways to take out his frustration that weren't nearly as constructive, but when he couldn't get out of the house that was what he resorted to doing.
And at age fourteen he started looking into possibly heading somewhere else for school. He looked around online, trying to find a school that would fit his parents standards, be far enough away for him and actually hold some interest to him. He stumbled across Gordon Parks' by accident and figured that it would be the perfect thing for him. Convincing his father was going to be a different story though. As the head of the company that his father had run before him he had a set of standards for Will that he wanted to make sure that he lived up to. After all, he was going to have to take over the company next and so having him go off to an art Academy - even if it did provide a great education - just wasn't something that any serious Aldridge could ever do. He was determined though, going to his mother and trying to win favor with her to get her to push the issue a bit more. Robin tried to do just that but it didn't seem like she was having any luck with her husband. Still, Will send in an application and promised himself that he'd find a way to get his father to agree if he got accepted.
After hours of research online and calling up different college officials he had found his perfect argument. He went to his father and layed out that the Academy was one of the top schools in the country, giving different stats about some of the teachers that worked there that would be sure to even impress his father. He also told him about what different colleges had to say about the Academy and put it all together in a report that was backed with so much fact that even he wouldn't be able to deny it. Proud that his son had actually put so much work into something, he decided to let him give it one shot to see what would happen. After getting his acceptance letter in the mail a few weeks later he packed his bags and headed off for Kansas City. Something must have gone right that first year because at the end of it his father agreed to let him continue his education there and has been ever since.
