[Alexis Donovan]

Truth be told, Miss Alexis Victoria Donovan wasn't really one to get all teary eyed about anything. So, if anyone saw her at this very moment, they might get confused. Or, confuse her for her older sister, Cara. Cara is kind of a cry baby...and so Alexis never took to crying...unless it was a way of getting what she wanted. In that case, she would scream, cry, kick, do anything she had to. Also, in a play she did she had to cry. So, she thought about when her dad died, and the tears just came pouring out. But, that was on a rare occasion. So to see her crying while looking at her phone, one would stop and stare. Not that anyone at GPA really knows her all that well yet. She is only a freshman after all. To most she is just "Cara's little sister". Soon, Alexis will make a name for herself. But right now she had way more important things to worry about. It had to be bad to make her cry.

When Alexis first came to GPA, she really missed her North Carolina friends. She didn't know that it was possible to miss someone this much. Cara told her that she'd be missing her mom a lot. This was true. She did miss Jessica a lot. She was one of Alexis' best friends. It was hard to think of not going home everyday to see her. Plus, she really missed Tailor. Tailor and her got really close when Cara was off at school. Because Rhyan had left, and then Cara, they really only had each other. Tailor because like Alexis' little sidekick. It was really cute. She wanted to do just what Alexis did. So, Jessica and Danny signed her up for acting lessons. She was a really good little actress. Over the Summer, Alexis did the play "Snow White." She played Snow White, and Tailor got the role as "Dopey". She was so, so funny. Even though she didn't have any lines. Anyways, those memories were way past Alexis' mind.

She just got a txt message from her home town best friend, Kaitlin. She just told Alexis that school just wasn't the same without, and that she really needed to come back. Alexis had txted back that she couldn't just leave GPA because Kaitlin missed her, and that GPA was the best thing that ever happened to her. Kaitlin didn't like that, and told Alexis that she didn't want to be friends with her anymore. This broke Alexis' heart. She couldn't even think about not being friends with Kaitlin. They have been best friends since the first grade. It was too much for Alexis to think about, so she went to go sit under one of her favorite trees. It looked just like the huge tree in their backyard that has the tree house on it. The tree house was always Alexis' escape from the real world. So, this tree made her remember her "safe place."

[Evan Devvon]

Evan had been there all day, just staring off mainly, sitting up on a tree branch with his camera and a notebook. He wished that he could go back home, at least there he had some friends that he talked to. here, for some reason, it seemed that everyone either disliked him, or was just an acquaintance. He hadn't heard from any of his friends back home either, or his parents. Not that he expected anything less from them, but he thought that one of his friends would have at least written. Unfortunately he had taken it all out on himself, the bandages on around his wrists under his sleeves were proof of that.

He had his camera on, focused on the kids that ran around the play equipment, having fun with their own friends or parents. He had a great angle of them from where he sat and he jotted down some notes about what he was filming in his notebook that rested on his lap. He sighed and turned off his camera, he had enough footage for today. He would edit in to his movie later, a film about the school and the campus and the students. It was hard when he didnt have anyone to do the commentary.

He looked down to the base of the tree and saw a blonde head and recognized the face. Alexis. He knew here only as a freshman at GPA. For some reason she never seemed to like him, and he wasn't sure why. He had never even talked to her, but she was in theater, that he did know. She seemed upset and, being the caring person that he was, wanted to know what was wrong. Maybe he could help. He slipped his camera and notebook into his bag that was hanging off his shoulder and looked back down at her. "Hey, you alright?"

Alexis did not think that anyone was around. So, when she saw Evan, she screamed and jumped. After she figured out what she just did, her pale cheeks turned bright red. That was something that she never did. Alexis was never one to get totally embarrassed. It just wasn't her style. In fact, anything that had to do with crying, getting over emotional, or getting embarrassed was just not something Alexis did. She left that to Cara. She figured that she does a great job being a little cry baby, so she didn't need to go down that Park as well. Screaming was something very different. All her life, Alexis screamed-mainly just to get what she wanted. It always worked, so to this day she tends to do it as well. All this screaming as a child made her vocal cords outstanding, and now her voice can carry very far. So, to her her scream in shock, must have been painful to whomever had to hear it. In fact, she bet that half the playground was now looking at her. Oops. Not that she could really help it though. It wasn't her fault she just got scared out of her mind.

"You scared me." Alexis said, stating the obvious. Her light blue eyes, still stained with tears, glared at him. It was then she noticed who it was. Evan Devvon. She didn't even know this boy, but he did sort of annoy her. Alexis is one to judge people just by looking at them. She really does get this from her mother. Her eyes got a bit more narrow, and she placed her cell phone back in her pocket. She didn't really want to tell him what was the matter, but he did ask if she was ok, so she guessed she might as well not be rude about it. "No, I'm not ok." Her voice was cold and flat to say the least, "My best freakin' friend just told me that she doesn't want to be my friends anymore because I won't leave GPA for her. Isn't that amazing?" A tear ran down her face again, "Well, my home town best friend. Not my GPA best friend." Alexis shifted around on the grass. She wasn't sure why she had just told him this. What if he went around telling everyone he saw Miss Alexis Victoria Donovan...crying? Oh God, that would be so, so terrible. She couldn't even think about it.

The day was really rather warm, which was why she was wearing only a light purple tank top and a mini jean skirt. It was her favorite tank top, though. It had the drama masks on it. Her mom had just got it for her right before she left. Plus, on the back it says, "Drama Queen." Alexis could not wait for the perfect day to wear it- and figured that today was the day. So, when she saw Evan wearing long sleeves, she gave him a funny look. "It's hot out today, you know." She said, and heard her phone buzzing in her purse. She was in no mood to answer it, though. She thought it was either A) Kaitlin yelling at her again, or B) Cara wondering where the hell she was. Either way, she didn't want to read it. "I don't see why you'd want to wear long sleeves. God, I'd be dying." It was then the name 'Evan Devvon' rang a bell in her head. Cara had told her things about this boy. "Or...maybe you already are?" Oh Alexis, she really can be a total bitch.

Evan winced at the scream that came from Alexis. He didn't know that she was that loud. Well, she would have to be to be in theater. Evan himself loved being onstage, but by the time he had gotten here, the Junior Theater class was full, so he went for film instead, his second favorite thing. One of the things that his parents didn't really like about him but they could go choke on their fancy champagne for all he cared. They had at least let him buy the camera so that was good. He just wished they would be a little more supportive in his life choices.

He shook himself out of his thoughts when she spoke again. He had scared her? with her screaming she probably scared a lot more people. He watched as she glared at him, for what he had no idea, he hadn't done anything wrong to her. That he knew of anyway. They had never even talked before now. But he listened as she told him what was wrong and he knew how she was feeling, not having heard anything from anyone back home himself. And he said so. "You're not alone in that fact. I don't think my friends back home even remember who i am" He carefully climbed down to the grass bellow, standing a few feet away from her, hands in his pockets.

He had noticed the heat of the day, of course. But as it was him, he had worn long sleeved shirts as he usually did, to hide his arms. His favorite shirt, the black one with the striped sleeves, along with his dark blue skinny jeans and green Vans. A usual everyday look for him. She mentioned this, the heat and his choice of clothes. He just stared at her, no expression on his face. Then she really let it blow. His eyes widened and he stared at her in disbelief. What the hell?? He opened his mouth to retort, but closed it again, not knowing what to say. He shook his head and turned to leave. "You know what, i was just trying to help, but whatever."

When she saw Evan wince from her loud scream, a smirk did dance across her lips, if only for a second. "Well," She said, when Evan said she wasn't alone, "The thing is, my friends always know who I am. Everyone does." She gave her her stage smile, "I'm kind of hard to forget once you know me." This was true. Once you met Miss Alexis Victoria Donovan, you never tended to forget her face. It was just one of those faces that is stuck in your mind. "I really was shocked when I got my txt message. I mean, we've just been best friends for so long..." It was true, and it hurt. A part of her just wanted to end this conversation now and just talk to Cara. She always knew what to say, and how to say it. Sometimes...you need to remember who your true best friends are, and keep then so, so close to you. Plus, Alexis knew that Cara would jump at the chance to help her out. Alexis didn't really go to Cara with this sort of stuff. She didn't want to bother her with her silliness.

After Evan said that he was just trying to help, Alexis jumped up and placed her hand on her small hips. It was a rather funny sight. Alexis barely stands at 5'0". She and Cara are both that short. It's a pain sometimes, really. It's hard being the 'peanut' of your grade or even in your whole school! Well, she's lucky because she gets to tie with her older sister. So, really, it's Cara that should feel weird about it. "Well, your help wasn't all that good, was it?" She snapped, and huffed. "All you did was babble about how it's the same for you." Ok...so it did help a little. Alexis now knew that she wasn't alone in all this. For a second, she thought that she was the only person in the whole world who had friends (well, ex friends) that didn't want to talk to her anymore. But, Alexis knew that she should have talked to Kaitlin more about it before she left for the whole school year. That really wasn't fair. All she had told her was that she was going away to a boarding school. Oops. So much for being a best friend....Way to go, Lex.

Alexis did know who this boy was...but the more she thought about it...did he know who she was? Not that it really mattered. He'd know before he left the school....but she figured she'd be the one to tell him. "Well, I know that you're Evan Devvon...a junior film student. You're in the same year as my sister, Cara." She didn't offer him a hand to shake or anything as she introduced herself, "I'm Alexis, Alexis Donovan." She sat back down, her hands still on her hips, "I'm a freshman here. I'm into theater, though." As if he couldn't tell she was total drama queen.
