PERSONALITY
Wesley is your typical teenage guy. Keeps to himself, likes girls – and sex – and playing video games. Except for one thing – he’s a fashion designer, and damn good at it too. He’s not normally talkative, except for when pursuing girls which he quickly pulls up a charming smile and demeanor for. Though he’s more likely to skip from girl to girl breezily, and easily. He very rarely sticks with the same girl twice. He’s usually that guy who contradicts the popular asshole people and talks the talk because he can back it up. When verbally attacked – if verbally attacked – his common response is wittily insulting and he always waits to be physically attacked first before actually attacking. He liked the idea of infuriating someone with his mind rather than physically. Which is fitting, because for his image, he’s extremely smart and gifted. He doesn’t allow anyone to get under his skin about his choice of talent, in fact he finds it more amusing that more guys are afraid of being in that field of fashion when there are so many beautiful women to model.
He’s motivated by his need for success, and even though his field of choice is so far from his parents, he doesn’t exactly worry about their feelings on it. Recognition sometime in the future for his clothes would be his ideal goal besides a line and shops all over the globe. Also, he has a very hedonistic personality. He likes to experience the pleasure in everything he can milk it out of. Like riding on a motorcycle to feel the wind whip in his face and make him feel like his flying – or falling – or having a a different type of riding experiencing – ha. His outlook on life is quite pessimistic. He’s extremely cynical and confident in his views and doesn’t have a problem arguing it down. Not purposely deceitful, he sometimes has that effect on people, as if appearing like he’s not noble. Though he usually puts his intentions out in front when it comes to girls, other than that he’s a closed book. It’s not entirely easy to read him unless it comes down to sexuality.
Impulsive and rash, his spontaneity in life is very spastic. He likes to keep people guessing and doesn’t feel the need to explain himself to anyone. Living life based on rules and common ideals is not his definition of life, but his definition of conformity. Though of course he knows his bounds, he just chooses not to live inside of them at times. His attitude towards other people varies. To some he’s empathetic and likeable, but that’s mostly to chicks. He’s normally self-absorbed and greedy. His mentality is that if someone doesn’t like him, that they don’t get him and it’s not going to kill him at the end of the day not to have that person in his life. Arrogance is something that can be attributed to him, but only inwardly, he doesn’t necessarily openly blast his arrogance, but he’s hot shit and he knows it. He doesn’t need to be over obsessive about it, and doesn’t need to make it known that he knows.
His degree of interacting with other people isn’t very high. Usually he likes his privacy and alone time and doesn’t allow people to interfere with that. Though when in class or out with friends, he’s usually the one doing all the entertaining. He’s not one to reveal much information about himself, his disclosure has been set since he was eleven or so. He doesn’t like talking about himself, or his past or anything having to do with people getting close to him, especially girls he just wants to screw around with. Though if it’s to get in someone’s pants, he pretends to be open and honest. When asked about his past, he’s evasive and quickly changes the subject, mostly because he doesn’t need people knowing about him. Or his weaknesses. For this and his lack of speech towards people, he’s seen as mysterious and cryptic. Which is somewhat true. Though when it comes to other people, he’s frank and forward,he doesn’t care for keeping his opinion of others in. Though he’s not overly cruel with it either unless someone deserves it.
When it comes to his sexuality, many question because of his passion and he’s okay with that. He doesn’t entertain them with any ideas, doesn’t yes or no anything. He knows the truth and that’s good enough for him, but if overly patronized about it, he lashes back with witty comments on weaknesses he can pick up from other people. He’s definitely heterosexual, he likes women and while he’s just fine with gay guys, he doesn’t overly enjoy being hit on. Woman are his immediate and only preference and he can’t deny the attraction. He’s not picky when it comes to them, any woman, any shape or form, and colored hair any eye color, any style – ‘cept overly preppy bitches…though he thinks in their own way they’re hot…okay so sometimes he makes exceptions – is his preference. He’s overly brazen when it comes to women, while he believes women deserve respect, sometimes he just can’t help himself with the catcalling and whistling. He’s mostly open to everything and is extremely adventurous when it comes to sex. And his approach to women, if it’s not open and brazen it’s charming and seductive. A flash of his brilliant blue eyes, and a crooked grin and he’s in someone’s pants in a matter of seconds. Hands down. He has yet to find a girl who can resist him.
His signature habit is flipping a coin nonstop, whenever he’s idle during the day. Along with whistling and humming, though the latter he only does when working on a project or mocking someone.
APPEARANCE
With his square face, Wesley’s facial features are strong and prominent. He has high cheek bones and they’re sometimes blushed with red. Another clear-cut feature is his burly jaw, sometimes filled with stubble and five ‘o clock shadows. It’s very rare to actually see Wesley without a clean-shaven face, but sometimes he loses commitment and lets his beard and mustache grow. Not that it doesn’t fit him, he just like a clean-shaven face much better. Thin, pink lips are usually found turned up in a grin when amused, and unmoved any other time. With such bushy eyebrows, you think they’d be the focus of his face, but his icy blue eyes tend to take the cake and get more notice. If not for the brightness, for the amount of mystery that hides behind those eyes, waiting to be unraveled.
Dark, soft, groomed tresses cover his head. It’s very rare to actually see him without his hair being up to par and shiny. And he’s constantly fixing wherever he is. His choice of clothing are old, ratty jeans, boots and black shirt covered sexily by black leather jacket. He often carries around a pair of aviator glasses as well. He likes to be comfortable, besides the maker of beautiful clothing should have to always dress up, he believes his handmade clothing should speak for itself. He can usually be seen wearing studded wristbands on one wrist and a couple of rings on the opposite hand. Wesley usually keeps a calm demeanor about him, he likes his privacy and keeps people out for that reason.
HISTORY
Hailing from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Wesley Jeremiah Poe was born to Amy Michaels and Walter Poe on March 17th. Amy Michaels was a struggling med student just trying to get by on one dollar hamburgers and trying to stay in school. But it was hard with little to no money and her scholarship funds running out. Her parents had given her all the money they could afford to give and lend her. Though she had to find someway to get through her last two years of schooling so that she could she could get her medical degree. University of Pennsylvania had been her dream school, all she ever talked about, the only school she wanted to apply to – though of course she knew that wouldn’t have been a bright idea. She’d graduated at the top of her class in high school, a year earlier than expected. She was a shoe in for UPENN, though the only thing she was dreading was the entrance exam. She knew it was a competitive process and when the time came around for her to take it, she made sure to study pretty intensely and she made it. There was no way she was going to let it all slip away after how hard she’d worked. She’d have to find a way to earn money.
Walter Poe was studying to be a law student at the University of Penn Law School. Not his first chosen field but it pleased his father and his mother. He wanted to be a teacher, teach little kids because that was what he saw himself loving. But his father would only pay for an education in law or medicine – preferably law so he could take over the family firm when it was time for him to retire – and so that was all he could afford. Besides, he didn’t necessarily hate law, he just didn’t like being forced into it. Oh well. He’d been raised in a wealthy family, but never let it get to his head. He was that one kid who didn’t enjoying mooching off of Mom and Dad, he got his own job and made his own money and only borrowed when absolutely necessary and always with the intention of paying it back, no matter how much his dad thought the idea ludicrous. Walter wasn’t rebellious, he’d been a good kid, followed rules, obeyed his parents, but he loved life. And all throughout high school he lived it and it wasn’t necessarily received well by his father, and after a while of hearing nonsense about it, he just quit all together. Settled down and just went to law school like a good little boy, though everything inside of him screamed for a way to release his creativity.
Walter first saw Amy at a small diner in the city center, he’d admired her from a far. Her beauty had caught him almost by surprise when he’d passed her that day. Beautiful, bright blue eyes; dark, flowing brown hair. Dressed in M&M Scrubs, egg salad sandwich sitting untouched as she sipped on a bottle of water, the look on her face one that touched him in a way. The image of her staring out the window, worried about something Walter found himself worrying about with her as he sat four tables down, was so stunning. He found his appetite beginning to wane as his stomach did a number of cartwheels in his stomach. Though he was tortured to look away from her, a glance at his watch told him he was particularly late for a lecture and upon standing up, he tripped a bit over the leg of his chair causing a ruckus as he walked up to the counter to pay for his food, quickly jotting down his number on a napkin. Paying for his meal and the meal – or lack there of one – that Amy had been eating, he handed the waitress his number and asked her to give her to the woman before making his way out of the diner.
Sitting in the diner that day had been particularly hard on Amy that day, she was hungry, beyond that and she barely had enough money to pay for her bottle of water let alone the sandwich that sat before her, but even through her hunger she was too depressed to actually eat it. She was about to lose everything, he scholarship, her dream… it was just too much to deal with. She sat with her book thinking of ways to make it better and jotting them down and scratching out the impossible ones as quickly as they came. She was vaguely aware of the eyes on her. Though she was jolted out of her reverie when she heard a loud clanging and saw a guy tripping over his chair before she turned her attention back out the window, turning up the music to her walkman louder. As her beeper attached to her waistband began vibrating she stood up with a sigh before walking over to the counter, bottle of water and sandwich in hand. As she pulled out the money to pay she was surprised when the waitress turned it down and pushed it away. Upon telling her why and handing her a number Amy found herself both shocked and a bit happy. Though in her excitement, she knocked over the bottle of water, staining the napkin thoroughly and in turn bleeding the number. Quizzing the waitress for any information she could get she found out he was a UPENN of Law School student and that his name was Walter.
Weeks went by with no call and though he had lost hope, he had not forgotten about his brown-haired beauty, and regretted not speaking to her when he had the chance. Though little did he know a sudden knock on his dorm door would change his life for the better, for standing behind it was Amy herself with a warm smile and two cups of coffee and an invite for a stroll along his campus. She expressed to him her apologies for not calling and why and how it’d taken her a bit to find him mostly because she had little information as to who he was. Ultimately there were a number of Walters at UPENN Law. And how she hadn’t even known if it was him, but by his look of surprise and lack of confusion said it all. Ultimately she thanked him for his coffee, and they exchanged numbers and kept in touch.
Though, through all the frenzy over seeing Amy for the first time and needing to get to know her, he’d forgotten about parents weekend – and an incessant mother who’d pushed him into lying about having a girlfriend. And being as it was a day away, he needed to find one fast. Amy was his first choice and because of his embarrassment offered her a sum of one-thousand dollars to be his girlfriend for the weekend and if she could not only convince his all-knowing mother thoroughly that she was his girlfriend but get her approval he’d pay her more. Unable to say no to such a tempting offer, Amy accepted – even though she’d have accepted regardless of the money or not. Little to say, Amy had somehow manage to accomplish the task, and being a man of his word, Walter paid her in full and then some, five thousand as a lump total. Grateful for the money and feeling horrible for actually needing to take it, she invited him out on a real date. And needless to say things picked up greatly from there.
They grew inseparable. Amy was everything Walter had been looking for, she taught him to live and balance living with his career. They dated for four years, until each of them were out of school. Until one day Walter decided he wanted to pop the question, though Amy had some news she wanted to pop as well. How ironic on the day Walter asked her to marry him, she announced a pregnancy. Of course, this only sealed the deal, and the happy couple began planning for their wedding as Walter entered his career at his father’s law firm.
On March 28th, 1992 Wesley Jeremiah Poe was born, he was the first born of two; born prematurely and as a result born with patent ductus arteriosus. After a few days, doctors decided to put him on blood pressure medication to see if it’d actually help the problem. They watched him closely for a few weeks and the medicine seemed to be working before he began having huge blood pressure drops and they decided to do surgery. After making sure he was physically well and fit for surgery, and getting the proper paperwork completed by both of his parents, they began prepping for his surgery. And even though her expertise in the field brought knowledge that caused her to know that the surgery was necessary, as a mother firstly, she was afraid for her baby boy. And she demanded to be one of the doctors operating on her baby boy. Of course, with mommy on board, the operation would get done right. And that it did, a major success and all to show for it was a small scar underneath his arm.
As he grew, Wesley was a healthy boy, and incredibly smart, probably the brains from both of his parents. He was heavily into sports, starting out playing pee-wee football and soccer. Only, his parents had began getting really busy with their careers and thus had to hire a nanny who doubled as housekeeper. Wesley was raised by her. She taught him everything, helped him with homework and took him to practices until his annoyance at his parents for not showing up to games caused him to quit. Needing a hobby and watching Jackie sew up some of his damaged clothing, he began sitting in and watching her knit and sew and soon she began teaching him how to do those things. Of course she only allowed him to keep up with it if his grades maintained high. And so he did, and his grades were stellar. The announcement of his Mom being pregnant again brought a mix of feelings for her him. He wasn’t sure about having to share his already limited attention with another human being but it meant that his Mom would have to be at home after she used maternity leave. And he milked that to his advantage, knitting things for his Mom and his little brother-to-be and laid and watched t.v. with her. Made her breakfast – with the help of Jackie of course. Anything to make his Mom’s life easier. And when it came time for his brother to arrive, he was jealous but he quickly got over it. Though mostly he felt bad for the attention he wouldn’t get, and decided that he’d give him as much attention as possible.
It wasn’t until high school that he began rebelling against everything, mainly looking for attention from his parents – though he knew he was loved and he knew his little brother was too. He began hanging out with the wrong crowd, just to piss off his father. And began slacking in school, throwing parties when his parents were away and purposely disobeying rules. Though his last show of rebellion was the purchase of a motorcycle his parents had forbid him to buy. But of course, as always, everything went unnoticed, and he gave up trying, and went back to his old ways, though of course he was a changed person, and some of the things he’d gotten into remained, though he worked hard to get his grades back up to par and began taking up fashion design again. Pulling out some of his countless drawings and choosing one that he would complete for his entrance into a prestigious school that he wanted to attend to get away. It took him two years, but he managed and sent off his pictures of the dress, modeled by close friend and then girlfriend Mikaela, and a bunch of his sketches and waited for deliberation. A couple months later, he was accepted and packed and gone. Without telling his parents anything, just to see how long it’d take them to find out he was gone.
