PERSONALITY
Ava is one of the sweetest people you will ever meet. She has a habit of putting others before herself to help them in anyway she can. A frown is rarely seen on her face and is a cause to be solved if there is because it generally means that whatever she is thinking about is something very serious. With constant arguing and shouting by her parents at home, Ava tries very hard to avoid any sort of confrontation. She'd much rather stay in the good graces of people than start trouble, so she tries to not let it find her. Drama is one thing she Ava does not want to be part of and won't associate with people who start it. She doesn't let things bother her very much and it ties to her being labeled a push over. Ava sees the best in people and believes in second chances, but there is only so much that a person can take before they explode. Although, usually subdued and reserved with her emotions, Ava will not stay quiet if someone takes something too far past her liking. She'll stand her ground until she makes her point. The calm before the storm is the best way to phrase her rare lashings at people.
Loyalty is what Ava is known for. Friends are very important to her and she hates to lose one. She will drop whatever she is doing for a someone in need. Her compassion and motherly type affection can sometimes seem overbearing to the point where she comes off as being fake, but thatfs just her nature. She'll lend an ear, give a shoulder to cry on or give needed words of advice or encouragement, but her opinions are usually brutal. Ava will not hold back the truth no matter are harsh it may be. So, if you come to her, be prepared to face the truth behind words. When it comes to the opposite sex, Ava is pretty much nonchalant. If she likes someone she tends to think nothing of it. It's not a surprise that she never really had a boyfriend. She's had a few kisses and small flings that lasted a week or two, but nothing serious. Her nurturing personality comes off as such a mother hen that she is usually substituted as most of her guy friends "go to" girl for advice or someone to vent to because they know shefll listen and give them support. Of course, just like any normal girl she fantasizes of that knight in shining armor to come sweep her off her feet. But, like always Ava tries not to let her lack of love life bother her. It will happen one day.
Being a smart aleck in the classroom is reason for her friends to groan with annoyance and at times sigh with relief. Ava is a bit of a nerd and absolutely loves the challenge of school. She studies regularly and is very prompt with her homework. Her hand is usually the first one in the air, but she is far from being a teacherfs pet. Ava tends to over step her boundaries at times with her heartfelt opinions on her certain matters and is sometimes sent to detention because of it. Art, however is a completely different thing. You don't really know Ava until you've seen her draw or paint. It's almost as if she were a whole different person. She takes on this dark, intense and silent type of personality as if she were related to Batman or something. Aside from that, Ava isn't exactly graceful. She has a clumsy streak that rivals a new born deer learning to walk on all fours for the first time. A few scrapes and bruises across her fair skin, but nothing she isn't used to happening frequently.
APPEARANCE
Despite what Ava may think about her looks, she is an extremely attractive girl. She has the ability to turn many heads in a crowded room without trying to. Her modesty about her looks, is just about the icing on the cake. Ava may take after her fatherfs personality, but she is practically the spitting image of her mother. Ava stretches to about 5'4" with a slim toned body that has curves in all the right places. She has full, radiant, golden brown hair that cascades in loose curls past her shoulders that is hardly ever pulled back. Avafs hair is probably her favorite feature about herself. Not one to groom or style much, Ava usually just washes it and lets it air dry. Straightening, blow drying and rollers just takes so much precious time that she does not like to waste. A feature that tends to draw people in are her wide, almond shaped eyes that take a rich nutmeg color and are the center of her emotions. It is very easy to read how she's feeling just by looking into them. Lying was never her strong point as her eyes always gave her away.
Her oval face is usually enhanced with a touch of makeup, she never leaves anywhere without putting some on. Just like the artist she is, Ava thinks of her bare face as a blank canvas just waiting to be full of color and life. She has a habit of envisioning what she wants to look like before she even applies anything onto her face. The same goes with clothing choices. Fashion is not really Ava's thing, but she knows what she likes and that is all that matters to her. She doesn't really dress to impress. Ava takes comfort over anything, but her style is more on the girly side. Her favorite articles of clothing are dresses. She'll rock a nice, casual dress with sandals or slip ons and during the summer and spring. She has no objections with wearing jeans and cute blouses either, but she tends to cling to dresses more.
HISTORY
Matthew Dawson was a business man with a degree from Dartmouth. He was head of his own company that supplied materials for computers. It was expanding rapidly and being young and rising in wealth, he took an opportunity to build a sister company in Canada. While visiting the production site which was under construction, he succumbed to injury that landed him with a broken leg and a severe concussion in the hospital. His doctor, however eased his pain at first sight. Her name was Emily. Their budding relationship was talk of the hospital and was growing into something more. Matthew decided to work from his sister company for awhile, but he secretly wanted to get closer to Emily. They dated for little over a year before he popped the question. Their wedding was extravagant and their honeymoon in Italy was even better. His new wife refused to leave her family and so to adapt to her wishes he graciously handed over his CEO position in the U.S to his best friend and co worker and took the CEO position at the sister company.
The two resided in Kentville, Nova Scotia in a spacious four bedroom house. Emily soon became pregnant and then gave birth nine months later in the early hours of New Year's Day to a beautiful baby girl. Ava Mallory Dawson was strong, healthy infant and was good to go as soon as Emily healed up from the C section. They were happy family for quite awhile and Ava remained an only child. She was spoiled and was lavished with attention by her parents. The first few years of happiness and contentment of the small family washed away. Avafs father had frequent business trips to Ontario where his company was stationed. Sometimes, hefd be gone for a day, or maybe more or sometimes a week or two, it depended on what was going on and what they needed him for. Emily did not like his absence and tried to make it a point to Matthew that his family had to come first. Matthew picked fights, which ensued into fighting matches that Ava began to become accustomed to as she grew older.
During this time, Ava turned to paper and pencil and put what she felt to a blank sheet. She sketched and painted everyday to the point where it became a passionate hobby of hers. Soon enough Ava had stacks of papers and sketch books full of life. Despite Matthew's absence, he still found time to spend with his little girl and on her eleventh birthday turned one of the guest rooms into her own art studio. That was her domain, her favorite place in the whole house. Ava spent most of her time in that small room when she wasn't hanging out with her mother. But, just a few weeks later, Ava's mother packed up their clothes. The two of them stayed in a nice, beautiful hotel for two weeks until Matthew came after them with his tail between his legs and asked for forgiveness. Emily did in fact accept him back. Slowly, but surely the two rekindled and were as madly in love as they were when they first met. Although Ava's father does in fact go on a few business trips, he makes sure not to be away for more than three days. If not, then he'll have video conferences in his home office. The two still have arguments here and there, but Ava began to grew tired of their endless bickering.
One summer, Ava heard from her aunt that her younger cousin, Brooke was gone for the year to an Arts Academy in the States. Ava and her cousin saw each other a few times during the year, but they weren't as close as they used to be when they were little. Intrigued by the information, Ava sorted through the information packets her aunt had and even did research about the school online. It offered special classes in the Arts such as dancing, photography, film, but what struck her was that they even had an Arts program. She decided to talk to her mother about it. After a few weeks of deliberation with her father, both parents agreed that it would best for her. Ava was so excited. Away from home for a whole year without the constant arguing between her parents and she was going to take classes for her passionate hobby. It was already paradise!
ROLE PLAYING SAMPLE
It was one of the places that Michael knew that he wouldn't be bombarded. But, he secretly came in hopes of running into his ex girlfriends who couldn't live her life without a morning pick me up from Starbucks. He spent many nights thinking of her smile, long blonde hair, her caring personality and last, but not least the intimate nights they shared. It completely blew him off guard when she told him she wanted to break up, but while her voice was saying one thing, her eyes were telling him something different. He was left downright confused! Michael tried to speak to her on multiple occasions, but they resulted in her ignoring him or both of them arguing and then stalking off. Five years would be able to handle this better than they were. His life felt so empty without her around. In fact, Michael couldn't remember a time when he was without Kate, it like so long ago. He was so unable to let her go, which was the primary reason he broke it off with girls he went out with before things became serious. It was a way of coping with his loss, but also a way in looking for hope that she might come back.
A sharp pain in his ribs broke Michael from his somber thoughts. He turned to face the source that inflicted the pain. They were already apologizing by the time he was able to get a good look and he was caught by surprise at who it was. Kate. Maybe coming to Starbucks wasnft such a good idea to begin with. He didnft even like coffee! She glared at him, immediately taking back her apology. Michael set his jaw, "Well, nice to see you too, Kate." his voice dripped with sarcasm, "I believe that's the most you've spoken to me since we broke up." A few people who were waiting on line were now seeming to perk up. Michael held her gaze, blocking the pang he felt in his heart. Maybe this was the chance he'd waited weeks to get and he had to come to terms with the fact that he might never get another. Kate had become quite elusive. Their nonsense bickering or ignorance whenever she came in contact with him did in fact hurt him. He took everything to heart. As she rolled her eyes, Michael grabbed the crook of her elbow before she had the chance to even think about leaving like she always did. Trying to keep the pain out of his voice, "I hope you aren't going to just run out that door. I've become accustomed to seeing the back of your head lately." He smirked. It wasn't fair to tease her, but she'd been doing all the silent teasing lately and now it was his turn. Perhaps, he'd get some kind of closure.
