PERSONALITY
It only takes one word and four letters to accurately describe Ashley Davis' personality - brat. What she wants, she must get, whether she cares about it or not, and that includes things that come in all shapes and forms. To be sure, this aspect of her personality comes from the fact that she'd probably barely ever heard the word no in her life before, except for the times it came out of her own lips. Nonetheless, there is a great deal of determination in her, but she rarely even has to use it because anything she asks for, she gets with the lift of her little finger or the batting of her eyelashes, depending on who the request is directed to. She's very stubborn and hardheaded, but not really in a way as to debating her opinions and trying to make other people see her point of view when in the middle of a discussion - it's more in a 'I'm right and you're wrong' kind of way.
She's not a very studious girl, but she's lucky enough to be smart and easily retain information, meaning she barely ever has to studies and still gets some of the top grades of the class. School tends to bore her, and her only concern generally is to do what she knows she's good had, which is why a lot of her free time is spent either working on some of her film projects or shopping. She's not necessarily a very girly girl, she doesn't cry her eyes out when she watches a chick flick and her favorite color isn't pink, but shopping really is the one thing she can do for hours and hours without ever getting tired of it - something which is made easy with the credit card her parents gave her when she left for the Academy, so that she could buy whatever she needed, whenever she needed to.
As for relationships, she's very picky as to which guys she'll go for. She has a list of things she looks for in whoever she might end up dating - generally a rather generous amount of muscle mass or at least a nicely shaped body, charisma, charm, manliness, and it goes on and on - and whoever doesn't fit it isn't even worth her even considering as a potential boyfriend. She does have a certain amount of experience, for a few amount of guys have managed to satisfy her as to what she was looking for, but it rarely lasts past the first couple of months, either because she ends up being too bratty and annoying for the guy she'd dating, or he ends up not living up to her high expectations.
APPEARANCE
With her flowing long blonde hair and bright blue eyes, Ashley is the kind of girl you generally look at twice - she's got the looks, and she knows how to use them to her advantage, too. Fair, flawless skin, rosy full lips and a petite body that reaches the height of five feet three inches complete her looks, and she always makes sure to keep each of her attributes at their best, working out several times a week to keep her body slim, chosing contacts over the glasses she ought to wear for her slightly lacking vision and using several product to keep her hair looking smooth and silky, and make sure she won't wake up to horrifying acne or any other skin problem most teenagers tend to have.
Really, for Ashley, looks are everything, and she never steps out of her room without making sure she looks her best, to the point where one might wonder why she made the decision to stay behind the camera rather than flaunt herself in front of it. She's long ago perfected the art of make up, from foundation to mascara - and even fake eyelashes sometimes, for more important events - and she gets manicures and pedicures done frequently, for she wouldn't stand her nails not looking absolutely perfect. As for fashion, she makes sure to read several magazines monthly to keep herself up to date on the latest trend, and the moment a look or item is deemed out of style, she makes sure to get rid of it.
HISTORY
Late at night on December 11th 1993, in the city of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Ashley Marie Davis was born Tom and Lisa Davis, second and last born to the couple who also, at the time, had a three year old son, Michael, and now that they had a daughter, they were completely content with the little family they'd made together. She grew up in a happy, upper middle class environment, her parents both working as dentists, sending both kids off to private schools from the moment they entered kindergarten and signing them up for as many activities as they wished. Their being spoiled wasn't a result of guilt from neglect, or anything of the sort - Lisa always made sure that she would be home whenever the kids got back from school to do homework with them, have dinner, play a game, and every weekend, they would go out on a family outing, just the four of them. Birthdays would be celebrated wherever they wished, and presents would always pile up under the Christmas tree, reflecting the lists that had been given from A to Z.
Michael's more quiet and reserved temperament remained mostly untouched by the effect of being given everything he wished for, but Ashley soon learned how to use it to her advantage, quickly growing to be daddy's little princess, receiving a yes as an answer to every single request made. If she wanted a new toy, sure enough, it was there the next day. A new dress? Her mother would leave work early to take her to the shopping center. Pets, clothes, dolls, anything - as a result of it, her room would often end up cluttered with useless objects which she played with once before moving on to the next, clothes which were never even worn and kept their tags until they were too small to fit anymore. And in spite of how obvious her bratty attitude was becoming to other people, her parents remained completely oblivious that she was anything but their sweet little angel, their baby girl who'd looked just so adorable wrapped up in that soft pink blanket when the nurse had first handed her over.
She was ten when she touched a camera for the very first time. Granted, she'd had it for two years, because at the age of eight a little friend of hers had showed her the family camera recorder which was the latest model, bragging on and on about it, and then of course she'd just had to have one. It hadn't taken much time either until a brand new shiny camera had been handed over, and she'd given many thanks to her parents before laying it on her desk and not laying a finger on it again until she stumbled on it while looking for her favorite pair of shoes. Being particularly bored that day, she decided to go outside and film whatever she saw, making up stories in her mind as to what the two butterflies in the garden might be saying to one another, or why that little bird was angry at the bigger one in the tree - for with how loudly it was chirping, it must be angry. The next day, she decided to follow the cat around the house, and then it was the neighbors who, unknowingly, became the stars of her own little movies.
Her parents were so surprised to see her giving so much attention to one activity that they instantly tried to find film classes for her to take, which proved to be a rather difficult task for they didn't seem to be a popular occuring, at least not for ten year olds, but they managed by asking a family friend, who was very passionate about film, to give her lessons. At first, she didn't really care as to learning the workings of movies and such, only interested in her own games, but soon the interest actually grew, and she started working more seriously, writing up short scripts and asking her friends to act them out. Her passion kept growing until the day where she needed more than what she was being given - after all, she wasn't really learning from a professional. It was at that moment that Gordon Parks' Academy was first mentioned in the Davis household, for the family friend who'd been teaching Ashley the basics as to film making had himself attended in his teenage years, and once information about the school was obtained and reviewed, the decision was quickly made in Ash's mind - she had to go. A couple of months after starting eighth grade, an application was sent in, and many anxious weeks went by before a letter finally came, informing her that she'd been accepted to the school on a partial scholarship.
