Christmas In The Mountains {Nick}

Miki couldn't remember a time when she had been more excited about the day after Christmas than about Christmas day itself - and that probably had a great deal to do with the fact that that had obviously never happened before. This year though, she had a very good reason for it - her boyfriend would be arriving into Montana today. They just hadn't wanted to spend all of the Christmas break apart, and though neither of their parents had agreed to letting them go off during the whole of the holidays - in her case partly because of the fact that Izzy was spending her winter vacation over at Tanner's - his parents had agreed that he could come and see her as long as he spent Christmas with the family, which they'd both figured was plenty fair. And so because of that, and the fact that her sister wasn't at home, Christmas day had been a bit less exciting than usual. It'd still been nice, because she definitely enjoyed spending some alone time with her parents, but she'd just been too excited about seeing Nick again to fully focus on the day itself. Thankfully, neither of her parents had seemed upset about it.

Now the only downside was the fact that it would take forever for him to get him, considering she lived in the middle of nowhere, and he pretty much had to do a bijillion stops to get to St. Regis. She felt bad about making him fly out here in the first place, but in the end she just really wanted to see him. She did her best to keep herself occupied thorought the day, cleaning up her bedroom and putting away the presents she'd received for Christmas, before moving on to the dishes and tidying up the rest of the house. Not that there was much to do, seeing as her mom was pretty neat herself, but at least it kept her busy. By the time she'd gotten done with all of that, there was still a couple of hours to kill before they'd leave on the hour long trip to get to the airport, so she'd headed over to the kitchen and started up on his favorite dessert. That took up another good chunk of her time, and she filled up the rest as well as she could until her mom finally came up to her, holding the car keys. She almost ran out of the house with her, getting in the car and trying to enjoy the drive to Missoula as best as she could, glad that her mother decided to drop her off before going to park the car once they arrived at the airport. She headed inside just in time to see Nick's flight status change from 'in flight' to 'at the gate'.

For the first time ever, Nick was traveling on the day after Christmas. It was a bit weird to think that he wouldn't be spending the whole of Christmas break with his family like he always did, but a weird as it was to think about, he was super excited. Weird or not, it was going to be great spending time with his girlfriend. He'd missed her during their brief time apart and he'd known that he would, which was why they'd come up with the plan for him to visit her after Christmas. Especially given that he'd never been to her house before and he knew that Izzy was spending the holidays with Tanner in New Orleans. It'd definitely taken some convincing to try and get his mom to agree with it, because she wasn't sure that she wanted him to be gone anytime around Christmas because that was the time that the whole family came together, but eventually she'd given in to the idea because she knew how much he cared about Mikayla and that he'd be spending the most of his summer home in Mississippi not to mention that he did pend the actual holiday with her.

The only thing that he wasn't too thrilled about was the flight that he'd have to take to get to Mikayla. Although flying was something that he had to do all the time to go to and from school, it wasn't something that he was all that comfortable with and usually he tried to sleep during his flights. Unfortunately, this trip was going to take most of the day, the whole trip involved three layovers and was going to take a total of 11 hours. Not exactly something to look forward to in the slightest. At least he'd brought his laptop to keep himself busy during the layovers and get some work done that he had to finish during break for the flight. When he finally arrived in Missoula, he hadn't ever been so glad to get off a plane in his entire life. Trying to get off the plane, he was anxious at how long it was taking, wanting everyone to hurry so he could see Mikayla already. Rushing over to baggage claim, he grabbed his stuff and followed to the signs out, trying to spot Mikayla amongst the small group of people that were waiting for others.

Mikayla did feel pretty bad for Nick, as she'd been on the other side of what he was currently stuck doing - as it was, just going to and from Kansas City wasn't exactly pleasant, but she figured she couldn't complain when she thought of students that came from out of the country, or even students who came in from Hawaii or Alaska. Regardless, this wasn't a good way to spend the day after Christmas, and she had no doubt that her boyfriend would be completely exhausted by the time he got into Missoula - which probably wouldn't help the fact that they would then have an hour car ride back to St. Regis. She did love her home, and she enjoyed living somewhere that wasn't a big city, but at the same time, being in the middle of nowhere really had a lot of disadvantages. She figured once she and Nick got to the point of looking for a home of their own, they would definitely still go for a house that was more in the country side, but maybe not so far from the city either. Somewhere that would be easy to travel to without the suburban feel. Basically, she wanted to get the best of both worlds.

Of course, she wouldn't admit that she was already to the point of thinking about those things like a done deal - she didn't know if Nick was to that point yet, wondering what their future home would be like, how many children they would have and what they would do for a living. As far as she was concerned though, she knew what she wanted - she wanted to be with him, to marry him once they were out of high school and start a life with him, to have children with him and to grow old with him. She really didn't think anything would make her happier than that, and she really did hope he felt the same way. She tried not to focus on the future too much right now though, instead focusing on the present as she tried to spot him in the crowd, figuring it shouldn't be too long as his plane wasn't likely to be a big one. She grinned widely as she finally saw him walking toward her with his suitcase, glad that there wasn't much of a crowd as she ran over to him, throwing her arms around his neck as she pressed her lips against his in a deep kiss, burying her face into his neck and sighing happily. "I'm so happy to see you," she told him, resisting the urge of kissing him again.

Luckily, Nick had been expecting his travel day to go as it had been going. So he wasn't a fan of the fact that it took so long or any of the other hardships that came with it, but given that he'd made the trip before he'd known exactly what he was getting into. And it wasn't like he held it against Mikayla either. For one thing, she couldn't pick where her parents lived and for another, even if she could... he had a feeling that she'd probably pick some place that was awfully similar to the place where she currently resided. Not that she always would have felt that way, but now he knew how much she really loved her family's ranch. It was about as much as he loved his family's farm. He knew that if they stayed together in the future, which was really what he was hoping for, it was next to impossible that the two of them would end up living in a city anywhere. As it was, Kansas City was too big for his tastes and he knew that Mikayla felt the same way. There was just something nicer about being able to breathe in fresh air and have your own space.

All thought was pretty much wiped from his mind as soon as Miki came into his sight and he couldn't help but wonder if it was possible that she had gotten more beautiful in the short time that the two of them had been apart. Dropping his suitcase next to him without a care as soon as she jumped on him, instantly wrapping his arms around her to hold her even closer to him as he eagerly returned the kiss that she was giving. Normally he wasn't for public displays of affection to this degree but he jut couldn't help it when he hadn't seen Miki in more than a couple of days. Being in love with her and being apart was difficult, no matter how short the time was. He certainly didn't envy anyone that had to do a long distance relationship. Kissing the top of her head as she buried her face into his neck and sighed happily. "I'm so happy to see you too," he answered with a smile. Probably more than she knew even, although he didn't usually get into arguments about who loved whom more or anything of the sorts. "I missed you so much."

Miki was so excited about being able to spend the next few days with Nick - sure, it wasn't like they wouldn't be able to spend the next few months together, but it wasn't entirely the same thing. At school, they were a lot busier - they both had a bunch of assignments to get done, and even though they made sure to spend plenty of time just the two of them together, they still made sure to make time for their friends as well. Granted, it was pretty lucky that they mostly had the same friends, but she still had some girls' evenings once in a while, and it happened once in a while that he would spend time just with his guy friends. Not to mention, they couldn't always study together seeing as it made it too easy to get distracted, so unless they had a common assignment that they wanted to work on together, they generally made sure to spend a certain amount of alone time on each subject's study session. To be sure, they didn't always stick to that rule, but then neither of them really had that big an issue with getting good grades in class anyway, so they didn't worry too badly about it.

During vacation though, they didn't have to even think of school work or studying or any of those things. They could just focus on being together and that was all that mattered. Well, of course, she had to spend some time with her family as well, because she knew both her mom and her dad would want to get to know Nick better, but still, they would have plenty of time just for the two of them, and she was definitely looking forward to that. In the meantime though, just being close to him with his arms around her was more than enough for her. She smiled as she felt him kiss the top of her head, nuzzling her face against his chest. "I missed you too, so much," she sighed happily, pressing another gentle kiss to his lips as her mother walked up to them, clearing her throat with a light smile. "You kids just let me know when you're ready for the drive home," she spoke with a teasing edge to her voice, making Miki blush a little as she pulled away from Nick, tucking a stray strand of hair behind her ear. "Well, it is a long drive, so we probably should go sooner than later," she admitted before glancing back at her boyfriend with a smile. "Nick, this is my mother," she said, figuring she ought to take care of introductions. "Mom, this is Nick."

The fact that Nick had missed Mikayla insanely during their short time apart, probably spoke something about their relationship. It wasn't that they were clingy or co-dependent. They were perfectly capable of functioning without each other, having a good time without each other, and certainly of going a couple of days without seeing one another. However, once he got past the two day mark or so, he really started missing having her around. Not even so much because he always wanted or needed to be doing things with her, but just like the option of having there was needed. The idea that if he wanted, he could just head over and see her whenever. Or call her and make plans to meet up, spend the night together, or go out to eat with one another. Heck, when it came exams time at the Academy they barely had enough time to spend together because when they studied together it tended to get off track so there were times when they didn't really allow themselves that much time out of school to hang out but just being able to see her in classes or hold her hand in the hallway or steal a kiss on the way to lunch... that made it better.

Which was why, he knew that when the time came, he'd definitely be applying to colleges with her. There was no way that he was going to apply without her in mind. Long distance simply wasn't an option. He kept his arms wrapped around her as she nuzzled her face into his chest and told him that he'd missed her so much too, smiling as he heard the happy sigh that she'd let out and returning the gentle kiss that she soon pressed against his lips. Not even really noticing the fact that anyone was heading toward them until a woman cleared her throat. Knowing from pictures that he'd seen that this was definitely Mikayla's mom. Feeling slightly embarrassed and awkward at the fact that she'd witnessed their greeting. Yes, he loved her daughter, but that still probably wasn't what she wanted to watch. Keeping a hold of one of her hands as she pulled away from him and said it was a long drive so they should go. Waiting as he was introduced to her mom before he let go of his girlfriend's hand and stepped forward to offer his hand out to shake her own. "It's very nice to meet you, Mrs. Young," he said with a smile. "Thank you so much for allowing me to stay with you and your family."

It was a little odd for Mikayla to think that in spite of how long it'd been since she and Nick had started dating, he had never yet met her parents. But then, she figured that happened when you went to boarding school - after all, her family was from Montana and his was from Mississippi. They weren't exactly in the same area of the country - which was easily proved with how long it took for either of them to get to the other's house. And while Miki wasn't an overly nervous person, today had been fairly nerve wrecking for her, not only from the knowledge that Nick was having to do so much traveling and she really wasn't a fan of planes, but also from the fact that by the time he finally got here, he would have to meet her parents. She was lucky enough in the sense that her parents weren't like some others though - they knew Nick was a great guy, and they wouldn't purposedly try to intimidate him. At least, that's what theyd' both said, and she was very hopeful that she could trust them on this. They hadn't really been rough with Tanner though, so it would be unfair to give Nick a different treatment when he just as amazing a boyfriend to her as Tanner was to Izzy.

She smiled as Nick stepped forward to greet his mother, though she wasn't overly surprised as her mom then took matters in her own hands, briefly shaking his hand but soon stepping forward to actually give him a hug. "We are so very glad to have you over, dear," she told him as she stepped back. "We've definitely been looking forward to finally meeting you. Though Mikayla is right, we really should get on the roads before my husbands get impatient, he wants to meet you as well," she added with a smile, leading the way outside the airport and to the parking area as Miki soon moved back closer to her boyfriend, grabbing onto his free hand as they made their way to the car. She opened up the trunk, waiting for Nick to put his bag in and closing it up before getting in the back seat - knowing her mom wouldn't mind if she wanted to have a bit of closeness with her boyfriend right now. She chatted with him as they started on the drive back to St. Regis, her mom joining into the conversation once in a while, but mostly giving them a chance to catch up with one another - and by the time they finally made it home, Miki had hardly noticed the hour had already passed. It was so strange how much faster time went by when she was with Nick.

Nick couldn't believe that he'd forgotten the fact that he was about to meet Mikayla's parents for the first time. He tried not to be too nervous about it, since he knew that Miki had great parents and then he knew that when Tanner met them it wasn't a big deal. Not that he'd told Mikayla about it, but he'd actually asked the older guy if there was anything that he should expect or know when it came to meeting the parents, since he'd been through it and gotten out without a problem. Luckily, the other guy told him that he didn't have that much to worry about and that her parents were very nice and welcoming, not the type to try and intimidate or anything like that. Plus, they were okay with the two of them being able to sleep in the same room so that was something to look forward to as well. However, despite all that information, he still couldn't help but feel slightly nervous and worried that maybe he'd be the exception to the rule and her parents just wouldn't like him and regret letting him stay over or mention to Miki that maybe she should stop seeing him.

It only took greeting her mom to feel like as far as she went, his fears were probably unfounded. Hugging her back as she told him they were glad to have him and had been looking forward to meeting him. Nodding as she went ahead and said that they should get on the road because Mr. Young wanted to meet him too. Grabbing his bag and taking her hand as they walked out to the car. The whole ride back to Mikayla's house, talking with her and just enjoying the fact that he could be close to her and hold her hand or rest his hand on her leg. When they finally got to the house, he let Miki get out first and then headed to the trunk to grab his bag out. Looking around the property with a slight smile, it was different from his house in a lot of ways but at the same time... it felt like his home too. It was homey, welcoming. When an older man walked out, he assumed that it was Mr. Young. He went straight to his wife first, placing a light kiss to her lips and asking if the trip had been alright. When he got assurance that it had been, he turned to Nick and held out his hand to shake. "It's very nice to meet you, Nick," he said, looking like a father who had to be tough but gave up after a few seconds like it wouldn't work. So Nick took his hand and shook it firmly. "It's a pleasure, Mr. Young. I'm thankful that you and your wife are so gracious to let me stay with you."

Mikayla was definitely glad to have made it home, and she couldn't wait to finally get some alone time with her boyfriend. Even though it wasn't like they'd been apart for months, she'd still missed him so much, and she couldn't even express how happy she felt to be with him once more, to be able to feel his arms around her and to hear his voice clearly rather than through her cell phone or computer speakers. She knew tonight would be a good night, too, because she never slept quite as well as when he was there and she could cuddle up in his arms. And then, there were obviously other things she'd missed as well, but that would come later. Granted, she did hope her parents wouldn't want to make too much small talk, but even if they tried, she could easily excuse him by reminding them how long a travel day he'd had and how tired he must be. Not that she thought her mom wouldn't remember that herself, but she would probably offer him something to eat first - and she couldn't help but hope he would decline and say he'd already eaten between his flights or something like that. Of course, if he hadn't, she wouldn't let him starve, but she was just looking forward to finally being alone with him.

She got out of the car with Nick as soon as her mom had parked it in the driveway, going back to open the trunk so her boyfriend could get his stuff out while her dad greeted his mom and asked if all had gone well. It was always sweet to her just how loving and caring her parents still were toward each other, even though they'd been married several years - they never left the house without kissing each other goodbye, and they were just so attentionate. She could only hope to still share the same kind of love they did once she was their age - but then, with a boyfriend like Nick, she wasn't worried about that in the slightest. She watched as her father then moved to finally greet the other guy, having to keep herself from rolling her eyes at her dad's failed attempt to look tough for not even ten seconds. She could see the look of approval written all over her mom's face, too, and she could only hope her dad would feel the same way - but then, she didn't see why not. "Well, as a good host, I do have to ask if you would like something good to eat after all your traveling today," her mother offered right on cue. "After all, I know what airport food is like."

Nick wasn't too intimidated about the fact that Mr. Young tried to look tough for the first few seconds, since he'd known that it was a possibility that it would happen. And he was pleased to see, that just as it had been with Tanner, he quickly gave it up. And though he couldn't say for sure that for sure the older man liked him, he at least seemed happy enough with the respect that he was showing him and he planned on getting to make more good impressions during the time that he spent with his girlfriend's family over the break. At least already he could see that Mrs. Young seemed to have some approval toward him, possibly from everything that Mikayla had shared about their relationship. He'd known that was the case with his mother, who'd taken to Mikayla before she'd ever met her just for that reason. Hopefully, he'd be able to keep that good impression, given that he hoped to be with Mikayla for a long time still. The Christmas present that he had in his bag spoke to that idea. So having her family dislike him wasn't on the top of his priority list.

Especially, since she was super close to her family and their opinions held weight with her. Not that he thought she'd break up with him right away or anything but it would cause strain in their relationship. Smiling a bit as Mrs. Young went ahead and offered him food, which he'd also been told to expect when he was told about going over to her house. Luckily, he'd anticipated that and ate at the airport. Not that he thought he wouldn't like having food that was homemade over something that needed to be bought at the airport, but he did want to be able to spend a bit of time alone with his girlfriend if he was able. Also, he didn't want to be a hassle or make anyone make special meals for him, it just wasn't his personality. "Thank you very much for the offer," he said with a smile. "But I'm really not that hungry. I ate during my layover and found something fairly decent and filling. However, I am pretty tired from the long journey, so I'd love to just be able to go inside and relax some." Preferably alone with his girlfriend, but even if it wasn't, just being able to cuddle up with Mikayla would be nice in his book.

Mikayla was definitely pleased by the answer Nick gave after her mom suggested putting a little something together for him to eat right now, in case he was hungry. She'd been hopeful he would decline, but at the same time, if he'd been hungry she couldn't have begrudged him wanting to eat. It would just have taken a bit longer for them to be alone together, but sooner or later they would have gotten there. As it was though, she was very happy that he seemed to be on the same track as she was right now, and more so that her mom didn't try to insist. "That's completely understandable," she agreed with a nod, glancing over at Mikayla with a smile. "Honey, why don't you show Nick the way inside? You can help him get settled honey," she added, pressing a kiss to her daughter's head before letting her go. "Goodnight mom, goodnight dad," Miki told them, not wasting too much time to take her mother's advice though she still moved to give both of them a hug first, taking Nick's hand in her own next so that she could lead the way inside the house, trying not to hurry too much - after all, her parents were still watching.

She didn't really bother showing him around the house at that point - they would have more than enough time to do that tomorrow, and then she could even show him the ranch and take him on a ride if he wanted, but right now she had a different idea in mind as to what they could do, and she didn't feel like making it wait much longer. She kept holding onto his hand as she made her way up the stairs, passing a couple of doors before reaching her own, opening it before turning on the light and letting him in. Her room wasn't very different from the way it'd been during her childhood, aside from a larger bed and many pictures of her boyfriend and friends scattered on the walls and stuck inside the frame of her mirror. She didn't give him too much time to admire his surroundings though as she closed the door behind her and moved to wrap her arms around his neck, pressing her lips against his in a deep, but brief kiss, allowing her head to fall forward a little as she rested her forehead to his. "I'm so glad you're here," she told him in a soft voice, hardly over a whisper. It was crazy just how much she'd missed him in the relatively short amount of time they'd been apart.

Nick hoped that no one would think that he was being rude in his denial of food, but he really was looking forward to relaxing with his girlfriend. They'd been apart for a little bit and he missed her during that time, so alone time was to be desired. That's why he was glad when Mrs. Young went ahead and told him it was understandable and asked Miki to help him get settled. Well that was something that he had no problems with. So he told her parents goodnight at the same time as Mikayla did, grabbing his bag to take inside the house with him. Looking around briefly inside as they headed through the house and into her room. It was a nice house, homey and comfortable and once more he saw why Mikayla enjoyed coming home for the holidays and spending time there. Not to mention the fact that her family seemed very nice as well, from what he could tell. He hadn't expected any different though, from parents who could raise Miki and Isabelle, two of the sweetest girls that he'd ever known in his entire life. They had to be great people.

When they got to Mikayla's room, he smiled slightly as he looked around. It looked like it probably hadn't been updated anytime recently and it gave him a sense of what it had to have been like when she was little. He did note all the pictures around her room, recognizing most of the people in them and noting that there were quite a few of the two of them together. He didn't get all too much time to take in his surroundings though because Miki had closed the door and wrapped her arms around his neck. Returning the deep kiss that she had pressed against his lips. Bending forward slightly so that their foreheads could stay pressed close together. Smiling as she told him how glad that she was that he was there. "I'm so glad that I'm here too," he replied, his voice just as soft, moving to press another soft kiss against her lips. "I really missed you." For a moment he was silent as he thought, then remembering the fact that her present was still in his bag. "I brought your present, by the way. Whenever you want to open it."

Though Mikayla hadn't been too worried about what her parents would think of Nick as a starting point, she was now definitely pleased with both of their initial reactions. She didn't know what she would have done if they had been clearly disapproving of her boyfriend - she knew she wouldn't have broken up with him of course, she loved her parents but she also loved Nick and there was no reason whatsoever why he wouldn't have earned himself their approval. Still, it wouldn't have been exactly pleasant to deal with the fact that her parents, whose opinions she valued greatly, didn't like the guy she had picked to hopefully spend the rest of her life with. She didn't care if she was only a junior in high school, she had pretty much made up her mind that as long as he wanted her, Milayla would spend the rest of her life with Nick. Not only did she love him more than she'd ever thought it possible to love someone, and she was fairly confident he felt similarly, they also had such similar goals and desires for their future lives. It was really hard to imagine herself with a better person, and she didn't want to anyway.

They'd never really gotten to the point of discussing anything like that just yet though - which made sense, after all they were both still young and they hadn't been dating extremely long. Only a little over a year by now - but that was plenty of time for her to know that what she felt for him was real and would be long lasting. She smiled and sighed happily as she felt him bending forward slightly to keep their foreheads pressed together, loving when he did small, simple things like these - like putting himself in a position that may not be the most comfortable because he was taller than she was, just so they could keep the closeness she wanted them to have. "I really missed you, too," she told him, moving slightly so that she could bury her face in his neck, wrapping her arms around him tightly and gripping ever so slightly to the back of his shirt. She glanced up at him though when she heard what he added next, debating for a few seconds - her own present for him was still downstairs as she'd left it by the tree. "Well, I left mine for you under the Christmas tree, I can go get if you want," she told him, pressing a soft kiss to the tip of his nose.

Nick was sure that Mikayla probably hadn't planned on doing presents as soon as he got there. That she probably was planning on waiting to do it the next day and just have the two of them spend time together, cuddling, kissing and whatever else that might happen. Which was something that he agreed to, very much. He'd missed his girlfriend way more than he probably should have, and the idea of just spending time with her was one that he liked a whole lot. Whatever they ended up doing, he knew that he would be happy. Sure, he was hoping that maybe later he could end up making up for lost time with his girlfriend fully, since he definitely had felt some sexual frustration in their time apart. It was ridiculous but it was true, he'd gotten used to a certain amount of sex happening between the two of them. They happened to have a fairly regular and active sex life, so having to go without any for a little while wasn't any sort of fun at all and he was sure that she probably was feeling the same exact way, given her eagerness to be alone with him.

Smiling a bit as she told him that she'd missed him as well, though he'd expected as much. Running a hand through her hair lightly as she buried her face into his neck and wrapped her arms around him. Watching her debate for a few seconds about his suggestion of the Christmas gifts, figuring that if she didn't want to do it right now they could always just do it another time, but finding himself glad to hear her say that she could go get his if he wanted. "I would like that," he answered, kissing her forehead. "Afterward we can just be together and do whatever you want." Waiting until she pulled away to head over to his bag, pulling out the small box that had been wrapped by Ellie because he wanted it to look nice and when it came to wrapping things he was terrible at it. Once Mikayla got back, he took her hand and headed over to the bed with her so that they could sit down together. "I want you to go first," he told her, trying to keep his cool but finding himself suddenly very nervous instead as he waited for her to open it up.

Mikayla was admittedly a bit nervous at the idea of giving Nick his Christmas present. He was always so great at what he thought of to give her, and she never felt like she really gave him anything that had even half as much of a meaning and worth to it. Of course, he was always happy, but then she knew that even if he hadn't liked her present, he would still tell her he loved her and seem genuinly pleased with it. Maybe at some point she'd get better at it, but until then, all she could do was try to find something that seemed like something he would want, and then hope he would actually like it. The problem was that Nick didn't tend to share the exact same interests as some of his friends - he enjoyed games and such, but he wasn't a gamer per say, so she didn't really see a point in giving him something that would tie to something he enjoyed doing once in a while, but not frequently. Picture frames usually seemed like a bit more of a girly present, and she didn't want to go the easy route with a movie or a book. In the end, she probably ended up spending way more time than necessary on it, but she couldn't help it. He was so amazing, she didn't want to just give him a substandard present.

In the end, she'd decided to go for two things - something more for his enjoyment, and the other a bit more emotional and personal, even if it maybe wasn't a present that was usually meant for guys. She gave a light smile when he said that he would like exchanging presents now, adding that they could just be together and do whatever she wanted once they were done, and she figured he was right - might as well just get it out of the way so that they didn't want to worry about it later. "Alright, I'll be right back," she told him, pressing a light kiss to his lips before heading downstairs, making her way to the living room where the Christmas tree was still up and picking up the bundle of presents she had wrapped for him. She hurried back upstairs, closing her bedroom door back behind her and handing the packages over to him, raising an eyebrow slightly as he said he wanted her to go first. "Alright," she gave a nod with a smile as they sat on the bed, taking the small box he handed over to her and unwrapping it carefully, her heart skipping a beat once she noticed the jewelry box. She glanced back at him briefly, looking back down at the box and opening it, letting out a soft gasp at what she saw inside.
