Homecoming Dance (Closing July 5th)

[Holly Hale]

She laughed slightly as she heard Addie sniffling with her. Addie was a fun person, not overly serious like some people were. But then again to be such good friends with Milo as she was she couldn't be someone who was overly serious, or really all that serious in general. It wouldn't have worked out, she'd noticed that people who were more serious tended to have more problems with Milo than those who were more laid back. Personally, she preferred those who were easy going to those who were stuffy and serious herself, those people were the types that she liked to surround herself with. After all, there wasn't a thing as too much fun. So, the more fun the people she hung around were the more likely she was to be happy with the friendships, well except for those rare times when she needed someone to talk to about a serious matter or something. Then those people were the types to have close by, the realiable ones. But a good mixture of reliability and fun was really the way to go with everything, and she tried to be that for her friends as well.

"I agree," she said with a nod as she heard what Addie said about the two of them being cute together. They were cute together, they seemed to fit well. "I think that they have a pretty good shot if Milo doesn't go and do something stupid. They'd be a good couple, she'd be good for him." Though she couldn't exactly say that everyone was probably feeling the same way as she saw some people nudging one another and pointing in their direction. But it was something to be expected, she knew that Milo wasn't going to care about it, but she wasn't sure how Taylor would respond to the attention that the two of them were bound to get from it. After all his reputation with girls was pretty well known, and if she didn't know any better she'd probably assume what everyone else was going to assume which was that her friend was only trying to get the Junior dancer in bed with him. No one actually believed that he was capable of a serious relationship and they had good reason not to, especially those who'd dated him before.

[Milo Parker]

He noticed that she wasn't really looking at him when the two of them were dancing and he didn't really know what to make of that, it was probably just because she was shy that she wasn't looking at him. Or at least that was what he was going to tell himself, even if it wasn't true, because that was a much much better way to look at things than to actually think that maybe she had just said yes because she didn't know how to say no. Now that was a depressing thought. But because he was him, it was also the first time that he'd really had that kind of thought when it came to girls. If a girl didn't want him then he found another girl, simple as that. There wasn't anymore to that equation, he just moved on and the problem was solved. He never really liked the girl anyway, but that was the one thing that had changed in his whole system. He liked the girl, and now he wasn't sure how to do anything right anymore. He had to get back his game before the night was over. Hell, he had to get back his game now. There was no way things would go well if he didn't know how to charm her.

Another blush crossed her cheeks when he made his comment, he was pleased to see. There we go, he was right back on track. Things were going good again, now he just had to not make such lame statements while trying to charm her. He grinned lightly when he heard her comment. "You aren't alone on that one, I think Addie and Holly almost had heart attacks when I came up to them. Actually, neither one of them recognized me," he told her, giving her a smile. "But I figured that if I want to dance with a gorgeous girl like yourself than I'd probably have to clean myself up a bit more than usual." There, now that was more like it. Now all that was left to do was make sure that he didn't mess himself up, or say something stupid that she'd take offense to. Well, it was more likely that he'd do something that she'd take offense to then he'd say something that she'd take offense to. His hands always did seem to have a mind of their own, luckily they seemed to be staying put around her waist and not traveling any further south.

[Aidan Steele]

A light grin appeared on his face when he thought he saw the hint of a blush on her cheeks, definitely liking it even though it wasn't actually blushing. He felt a bit weird as he brushed her cheek lightly, not really able to say what it was exactly, but it was definitely strange, not a feeling he usually got when touching other girls and now he'd merely just touched her cheek, hardly even so. Aidan had a quite a few girlfriends, though not a lot of flings and stuff like that, though some people usually assumed he had. He actually liked being in a real relationship with a girl, he knew what good it could do and he did enjoy it most of the time. Besides, even in an open relationship, he didn't feel comfortable with seeing girls on the side or even just flirting with other girls. Well, at least now that's how he was - before, he was more of a player, but he'd quickly gotten over that stage. Not quickly enough however to his reputation to remain untouched, but luckily for him, some other boys got more attention than him on that point so most of the time he wasn't too bothered. And right now that was definitely a good thing, because he didn't want his old reputation screwing up his chances with Mandy, if he had any. Which he really hoped he did.

His grin widened slightly as he looked down at her when she finally answered his question, looking up to the gym entrance and leading the way with her, not really thinking about taking her hand or anything, figuring it might just be awkward anyway. He noticed that she wasn't really looking at him too, but he wasn't really annoyed or worried by it - she seemed a bit uncomfortable, probably out of place. He didn't really see her as a girl who'd dated a lot before, and though he definitely couldn't brag about understanding girls - that was an impossibility in his mind if you were a guy - he still had the advantage of having quite a few good friends who were girls, like Addie, Taylor or Kaylee, and so he could partly understand a few things from what they'd told him. If Mandy had been looking away because she was bored or regretting coming with him, he figured she wouldn't have looked quite like this. Now she really mainly looked out of character, in a setting that wasn't her own. "Wanna start by dancing?" he asked her after they entered the gym, knowing if they sat anyway it probably wouldn't be with his friends just now - Addie would kill him.

[Cassandra Graham]

Cassandra nodded slightly when he said it was alright about her being late - obviously. She really hadn't expected him to get upset about it or anything, and she couldn't help but wonder if this boy ever even got upset or angry about anything, or if he showed it whenever he did, because it seemed to her it would be going against human nature to be constantly happy or something close to it. Then again, sometimes the need to please others was so strong than it made some people hide their own emotions, and she was starting to think he was probably like that. Always accepting excuses, making some even in order to forgive those who were wrong - she knew she was acting in ways that would piss off a lot of people, but he never seemed bothered by any of her actions - her sarcasm, her lack of smiling, her tardiness, all those things didn't even seem to bother him, and that was weird, unless of course she was right about his personality and there really wasn't much doubt in her mind about that. Then again, there rarely was any doubt in her mind.

She couldn't help but smirk lightly when she heard him say she looked nice. Had it been anybody else, she'd probably have been a bit annoyed to hear that - a lot of things looked nice. Her room looked nice, trees looked nice. Her cat looked better than nice. But she was pretty sure Joel was possibly editing his thoughts a little in order to sound a bit more proper, and that amused her a lot. "Well then I suppose I might have missed my goal to look hot," she said with a light shrug, nothing on her face betraying the fact that she was playing around with him a little. When he asked the next question, her smirk grew a bit though at this point it was close to looking like an actual smile, it just wasn't quite there just yet. "Well, that's what we came here for, so I suppose that'd be a good idea," she said with a small nod. Now she might just have to make sure to avoid her brother all evening - she really couldn't believe Andrew had decided to actually come here. From what he'd told her, he never went to any school event, and the year she'd joined the school, he decided to go. That was really annoying.

[Addison Micklesen]

Addie sighed a bit and nodded when Holly said Taylor had a good shot at getting Milo and dating him if he didn't go and do something stupid, though in her mind he'd been there and done that already. Still, if she was completely honnest with herself, that scared her a bit. She knew that at this point, Milo probably wouldn't do anything to intentionally hurt Taylor, he really did seem to like her, which was something new compared to most of the flings and dates he'd had before, and so she had good hopes about him actually trying to be a good boyfriend if they ever got to dating. But sometimes old habits die hard and she really was worried he might get upset about some thing or another and go and do something really, really stupid that would end up hurting him just as much as her in the end. Milo wasn't necessarily the most logical thinker when he was angry at someone and, like he'd showed with the Connor incident, it sometimes lead to a point where he regretted it himself, which wasn't really something Milo did a lot - regret. Still, she figured this whole relationship business might be good for him, whether it was planned or not.

"That she definitely would," Addie agreed with a nod as Holly said Taylor would be good for Milo. "I mean, she doesn't seem like the kind of girl who'd want to change whatever guy she's dating, so he'd always be the same good old Milo, and anyway it's not as though he'd let himself be changed," she said with a small laugh. "But... the whole girl on the side issue and all that, she might cure him from it, cause even though I have nothing against flings... obviously," she grinned, looking up at Holly meaningfully. "Cheating is never really the best of options. And really, if he makes it through the whole waiting part, cause I'm pretty sure she associates sex with love, I think that's gonna be an achievement in itself and I might actually stop worrying once they have sex," she laughed, shaking her head slightly. Abstinence really wasn't Milo's strong point, especially seeing how attractive Taylor was - he was probably mentally kicking himself at the mere thought of having to wait to have sex with her - and the only fact that getting her in bed wasn't the first reason as to why he wanted to be with her in some way or another was a good sign.

[Taylor Smith]

At that very moment, the best way to describe how Taylor currently felt probably would have been weird. But not a bad weird - definitely a very good weird. So there was probably a better word to describe everything that was going through her head - and body - at that moment, but she wasn't in her normal state of mind and she couldn't really think of any better way to describe it. She'd never been that close to a guy when it wasn't a necessity - namely ballet dances during which she had to be completely pressed to the guy, or he had to hold her in some way or another. But that was different than now, and even though she wasn't a close to Milo as she sometimes was during those ballet shows, it had definitely a whole different effect on her and it was... well, weird. She couldn't quite control her thoughts as well anymore, and though she sometimes got a grip on herself, they still went on freely, most of the time about how good he looked and how much she wished she could be even closer. Her heartbeat wasn't quite as regular as usual, though it wasn't really noticeable, and the blush definitely came to her cheeks more easily.

She looked up at him with a light grin when he mentionned Addison and Holly being shocked to see him dressed as he was, and she could pretty much guess why. They'd been his friend for longer than she'd known him so they were probably even less used to seeing him so well dressed up, if they'd even ever seen him that way, which she wasn't quite so sure anybody in this school ever had. However, after his next comment, the blush came back even stronger and she looked down, biting down on her bottom lip slightly. This was going to be hard... she was far from being used to this, and though the self consciousness wasn't quite as strong as the pleasure of knowing he found her attractive right now, she still felt a bit uncomfortable about all the compliments. And well, like most people in the school, she did know of his reputation, but she didn't really want to think about it right now. And from what Addie had told her, it at least wasn't quite like that with her... and she really did hope the other girl was right on that one. She really didn't want to be just another bed prize, but at least if that was his goal, she wouldn't be the only disappointed one at the end of it all.

[Marley Crane]

Marley stuck out her tongue at Andrew playfully when he said a smart ass comment about people usually dancing at dances. She was about to say something back, when she felt her hand in his and she was led out onto the dance floor. As they passed other couples, she smiled while watching them. The freshman looked so nervous and she giggled a little but then shook her head, knowing that wouldn't help them at all. She saw a few people that she knew but didn't really talk to and also a few people that she talked to a bit. She didn't really care who she saw honestly because she was here just to have fun with Andrew and that was it. She about took a double take though when she saw Addison but decided against it. Since the whole thing that happened last year, Addie and Andrew had been on edge with each other and the more they were around each other, the worse it got. Marley had heard some things about what happened with what Addie said on stage, but she wasn't there so she didn't honestly know how bad it was. But considering the whole school was still hung up on it, it must've been really bad. Looking back at Andrew, she smiled and squeezed his hand tighter, hoping that he didn't see Addie because of their history - it wouldn't be a good thing.

She smiled as they stopped and a slow song came on that she knew pretty well. Smiling, she put one hand in Andrew's and the other on his shoulder. She didn't know if he usually danced like that because - hell, she didn't even know really how to dance that well. Smirking, they began dancing. At first she just looked down at her feet, watching them a bit closely, making sure not to mess up, which she knew that she would do. After a few seconds, she was able to look up at him and smile. "Yeah, as you can probably tell, I'm not that much of a dancer." she said while glancing down at her feet once more. "Next dance, you might consider getting someone that won't murder your feet by the end of the dance." she smirked and continued dancing with him. He seemed to be dancing a lot better than her and she wondered how it was that he'd never been to a school dance before. Looking back up at him, she asked, "So, where'd you learn to dance this well?"

[Maxwell Taylor]

Maxwell could not help but chuckle when Evie said that he looked handsome. He really was just wearing a midnight blue and black suit. It was the one he was forced to wear to his uncle’s “casual” wedding. That was one outing he wished to never speak of again. Just the thought of it sent a shiver down his spine. It wouldn’t have been so bad if everyone hadn’t been drunk before they got to say “I do.” He really did almost lose it when his new Auntie Lindsey tried to set him up with her best friend’s disgusting daughter. He must have seen that girl pick her nose six or seven times. “I would never lose my head!” Max said in mocking voice, “You’d be there to remind me that it was falling off.” He was teasing her, and he hoped that she understood that. He really was never one to hurt anyone’s feelings- especially a girls. Evie was always the one to remind him to clean his binder, or to do his homework, or to write his report before the morning that it’s due. He liked her for that. She kept him in line. Well, as best she could. He sort of helped her to, though. Maxwell kind of felt like he sometimes helped her let her hair down every now and again. It was a great friendship.

“I can’t believe how many people are here tonight.” He looked around again. It was still weird for him to see everyone attending this dance. It was just the homecoming, after all. It wasn’t the junior or senior prom or anything. To him, it almost seemed a bit pointless. Oh well. Just as long as he had a good time, he didn’t mind. He looked around for what seemed like the zillionth time. He saw people like Taylor and Milo together. They seemed like they were having a good time. Also, Holly Edwards and was that…Addison Blythe? He couldn’t tell.

[Mandy Steele]

She looked around the gym as they walked in, she'd never actually been to a school dance before so she had no clue if what the inside of the gym looked like was what it was supposed to or not, but she was guessing that it was pretty close to it. After all, it sort of fit the descriptions of what she'd seen on T.V. so she figured that it was probably good. She was a bit amazed by it all though, she hadn't really realized how many students there were at the school before, maybe because she hadn't seen them all gathered together yet. She couldn't help but notice though that her dress wasn't really all that similar to any of the other ones that she could see. It wasn't as short, nor did it show off as much skin, nor was it clinging to her body. She wondered if maybe Aidan was a bit disappointed with her choice in a dress, she'd liked it because it looked nice, and because of the fact that it wasn't any of the things that everyone else's seemed to be. It was nice, modest maybe, but nice. He hadn't seemed disappointed when he'd told her she looked great. But then again he was an actor, he'd probably be able to hide things like that easily.

She'd heard a few things about Aidan which would lead her to believe that he'd be dissapointed with her clothing choice. Not that she was usually one to believe gossip, but it made sense in his case. After all he was very cute, it'd make sense that girls would be into him and that he'd be able to get a few girls as well. She pushed the thoughts out of her mind though and tried to focus on something else, she began to hum absentmindly to a song that she'd been listening to eariler in the day. She stopped however when she heard Aidan say something to her, she looked back over at him and gave a small smile as he asked if she wanted to start by dancing. Dancing would probably be a good way to start things out, even though she'd never really actually danced with a person before, much less a guy. If she looked on the bright side she could just dance with him and hope for the best, but there was that nagging concern that she was going to end up murdering his feet by the fact that she was so inexperienced. Oh well, they'd have to end up dancing sooner or later. Better to just get it over with right away. "Sure dancing sounds good," she said brightly, well at least it didn't show how nervous she was.

[Joel Rodgers]

When he heard her make the comment about missing her goal to look hot he was kind of thrown off. He wasn't sure what he was supposed to believe, or even how he was supposed to respond to such a statement, he'd never had anything like that happen to him before, it was slightly uncomfortable. Most people either accepted or rejected what he said and simply moved unto the next subject, he'd never actually had someone make a comment on his comments. Worst of all he didn't even know if she was serious or not. She sounded serious, actually, extremely serious about the whole thing, but for all he knew she could be messing around. It didn't escape his attention that she was a theater student, so she would probably be good at fooling him if she wanted to. Well the best thing to do would probably be to just not respond then, that way he didn't have to worry about whether or not she was being serious. Though, he figured that she was probably waiting on his reaction on what she'd said to him, she'd just have to be disappointed. Though... he'd admit in his mind that she did actually achieve her apparent goal of trying to look hot, and he was sure that she was aware of the fact too. She just probably wanted to hear it voiced a loud.

The remark out of her mouth next was kind of sarcastic - well alright, not kind of sarcastic it was definitely sarcastic - however, she did have a good point. They were there to go to dance, so it would stand to reason that the two of them would go inside so that they could actually be part of the dance. Just like it sort of stood to reason that the two of them would dance at the dance, it was - as she said - what they were there for. That was kind of a common sense type of situation. "Alright then let's go," he said walking toward the gym with her. He handed his ticket to the teachers that were still standing around the door, though there were fewer than before now as some of the teachers had began to dance with other teachers. He noticed that of course the Film professor had already gotten his (not so secret) girlfriend unto the dance floor. He'd never had either of the professors (obviously) but from what he'd heard they were both pretty nice teachers and most of their students spoke very highly of each of them. "So do you want to dance now or later?" he asked Cassandra as they were completely inside.

[Holly Hale]

She laughed slightly as she heard Addie make the point that Milo wouldn't ever allow himself to be changed, which was quite true actually. He wasn't the type of person that would change who he was for anyone, if someone didn't like who he was he thought that it was their problem not his. Which was one of the things that the two of them strongly agreed on, Holly liked who she was and that was the end of it. She didn't ever worry about stupid things like keeping other people happy. Especially not if that meant changing who she was. She always thought that people who expected others to change were selfish. After all, relationships - all of them, no matter exactly what they were classified as - were about compromise. If one person changed completely for another person, there really wasn't much compromise in that relationship was there? Then again the types of people that would actually change were the types of people that probably wouldn't believe much in compromise anyway. They'd probably just agree to what the other person wanted.

She grinned back at Addie when she said that she wasn't opposed to flings, which was definately a good thing, because it was what was allowing the two of them to be there together right then. However, she was right about cheating not being a good option in a relationship. She would be actually quite surprised if Milo managed to make it through the whole period without having another girl on the side, he wasn't exactly well known for his patience when it came to matters of sex. Which was something that he didn't hide, girls always knew so before getting involved with him. She always rolled her eyes when girls would come around complianing about how he only had wanted her for sex. She'd known what she was getting into before she got into it, it was her own fault for believing that something else would come of it. Though, she did always feel a bit bad for those girls. "I'll honestly be surprised if he does manage to make it through the waiting stage without cheating. But you're right, once they do start having sex things should be pretty smooth sailing. It's just the wait before that."

[Milo Parker]

Another shade of red crossed her face and he grinned, for some reason he found it attractive. He liked the way that it looked on her, and there was a bit of pride to it too. The fact that he was able to make her blush from what he said, though it probably wasn't that hard of a task to accomplish anyway. Still, he preferred to just overlook that tiny fact and just take pride in the fact that he seemed to be having an affect on her, even though the opposite was true too. He just wasn't going around blushing about things, he was just off of his game a bit. And having weird thoughts and other stuff like that, but nothing that could be really noticed unless a person knew what they were looking for. And they knew him well enough to know what he was like all the time. There weren't very few people who actually knew that, only Addie and Holly really and he had already admitted those things to them, so they didn't even have to waste their time noticing all the stupid little things that he was doing differently because of the girl that was in his arms.

He kept dancing with her, holding her pretty close to him and enjoying it. But soon enough - sooner than he'd have liked - the song came to an end. And really he'd only asked for one dance with her, so technically he was supposed to let her go back to the rest of her evening now. Not that he wouldn't intrude on the rest of it, because he definitely would, but for now he had to go let her go back to whatever it was she'd been doing before. Not that she'd been doing much, or it hadn't looked like it anyway. He really just hoped that she might ask that he didn't leave her alone. "So Taylor, it looks like the song is over," he said, pulling away from her slightly. He didn't want to, he'd liked how she felt in his arms, it was a very nice feeling. "And that means that you're free to go back to your table now if you'd like." He was hoping more than ever now that she'd disagree, he couldn't help but notice a few of the looks that she was attracting from a few other guys. He didn't want to sit around and watch her dance with some random guy. "Or, if you'd like we could just keep dancing. It's up to you." He tried to sound indifferent, as if the answer didn't matter to him either way.

[Evelynne Reeves]

Evie laughed as she heard him teasing her right back. "Right right, I would be," she said with a grin. She liked the teasing that took place between the two of them, it always made her feel more like she fit in some place. Usually she felt a bit like an outsider when it came to other people, because of the fact that she was so logical. Socializing wasn't exactly one of her greatest skills, usually people stayed away from her because they were annoyed with how well she did in the classroom. Some people were jealous of how much she managed to achieve academically, and some people were just annoyed by it. Either way, people in general usually weren't too big on her, well the teachers at least seemed to like her. Maybe it was because she as a bit of a teacher's pet, which also contributed to the whole people not liking her thing. After all people tended to hold grudges against people who were in well with teachers, but she couldn't help it. Besides it often helped her to be able to get things a little easier on her in the rare situations when she messed up.

She noticed that he was looking around quite a bit, and that he was probably wondering why so many people even bothered to show up to the Homecoming dance. She figured it was probably because everyone had missed each other over the summer and wanted to have a date that wasn't really a date with the people that they'd missed. She smiled slightly as he made the comment about how many people where there. There were quite a few people, more than she'd actually expected. Then again it seemed like all the freshman had shown up and more seniors than usual had wanted to come as well. "Yeah there is quite a few people," she agreed with a nod. "More than there usually is." She spotted a lot of her classmates and other random people that she knew as she looked around the place, she didn't really pay much mind to who they were with though. It didn't matter to her, people were going to be with who they were going to be with. It wasn't any of her business who they did or did not come to the school dance with, it was their choice after all. Whether they wanted to go with a guy, or a girl, or no one at all.

[Andrew Preston]

Marley's hopes about Addie were pretty much wasted as he had indeed noticed her, but seeing how their last encounter had turned out, he figured it was better to stay away for tonight. He only have a year left to bear with her and he'd do it from afar if possible. Besides, he was here with Marley and he intended to actually enjoy himself as much as possible. As he looked around the gym a bit, he couldn't help but notice there quite a few people who he hadn't really expected to be here, some he knew didn't usually come to school events any more than he did, though he couldn't really say that for sure seeing as he'd never actually made sure. He frowned slightly as he noticed Milo Parker in a suit nearby - he didn't overly like the guy, he actually pretty much hated him, but seeing him dressed up was definitely not something usual. He also noticed he was actually dancing with a girl, not really able to put a name on the face but still getting the feeling he'd seen her around. Oh well, she was probably just the girl of the month - or the girl of the week, depending on what Milo's intentions were - and he doubted it'd last very long. Probably no longer than after he got her into bed anyway, unless she was really good, then she might stick around longer. Shaking the thoughts away, he glanced back down at Marley and smiled as he felt her squeezing his hands slightly.

He grinned slightly as they started dancing, taking her hand in his and placing the other on her waist, making sure he kept it to a proper height on her body though he was tempted to place it a bit lower down her body. He chuckled a bit as he noticed her glancing down at her own feet quite a few times, shaking his head slightly. "Isn't the guy supposed to do that usually?" he teased her, leaning closer to her so that he'd be able to whisper it in her ear. People didn't usually expect him to know how to dance, but those people tended to forget about his upbringing. He'd attended to quite a lot of formal events with his parents, or at least had been forced to attend to them, and that'd often lead him to having to dance, so he'd learned after a little while how to dance properly though he still was no expert, just enough to manage leading a bit and not wounding his partner. "Keep on dreaming," he said with a grin as she said he might consider finding someone else to dance with after this song. "Want it or not, you're stuck with me for the rest of the night," he added before making a face at her question. "My wonderful parents forced me to enough dance to get the steps stuck in my head forever."

[Aidan Steele]

He grinned slightly when she agreed to dancing, glad that he'd have a reason to get slightly closer to her. He knew he'd have to wait quite a bit before doing anything else that brought him closer to her in any way - he wasn't really sure when it'd be considered okay to even kiss her, let alone attempt some more adventurous touching though he wasn't really expecting it to go any further than that anytime soon, but then again some people could surprise you. After all, she was still human, and she probably had needs and such just like everybody else, she just didn't let herself be overwhelmed with them, which was a good thing too. It wasn't that he was looking for a challenge... no, definitely not a challenge. That was a bad way of putting it, he thought, a bit like it was just a game to him, which it really wasn't. But he was looking for something new, something different. And Mandy definitely fit the bill for that one. She was nothing like the other girls he'd dated before, it it wasn't for her hair color, and that was pretty much it. The way she dressed, the way she acted, the way she talked even... it was overall refreshing, even though his best friend hated it. He liked it a lot and he wanted to find out even more things he liked about her.

He took her hand in his in order to lead her to the dance floor, his hand feeling a bit tingly as he did but he simply pushed away the feeling for now - it wasn't really the right time to get into deep analysing of how his body cells reacted when they were touchings hers. He was glad that it was a slow song playing right now, because he wasn't really all that good at dancing it he was honest, though there were some dances he managed because of Taylor's numerous attempts at teaching him. Still, coordination wasn't really his friend, so slow songs were always better than fast ones that made him feel like an idiot. And he was pretty good at avoiding other people's feet so that was a plus. Also, he knew that a slow song would allow him to get even closer to her, though he knew it wouldn't be a good idea to pull her very close at the very start and maybe more let her get used to it and possibly move a bit closer on her own. That was a better option he thought. Smiling lightly when they reached a spot within the dance floor that was free of other students, he put one of his hands on her waist and took her hand in his, figuring that would be good enough for now, though he really wished he could be a bit closer to her - for one thing that would make it easier to guide her, and then... there were more obvious reasons.
