Homecoming Dance (Closing July 5th)

He couldn't help but grin lightly as he heard her comment, honestly the thought of leaving with her was getting more appealing by the second. After all, the more he thought about it he realized that quite a few guys - and maybe even some girls - would probably kill to be in the position that he was in at the current moment. So why didn't he just make the best of the situation that he'd been presented with and call it all good? He was still a guy and the thought of being able to fool around with a hot girl wasn't something that everyone passed up willingly, or something that was a reason to be unhappy. Besides, things would be the way that they would be the next day and that was the end of it, a possible one night stand wouldn't hurt anything or anyone.

"Well if you were to give me a reason I'd say let's go," he said with a small grin. He was actually kind of amazed at how quickly they were going to be leaving, after all they hadn't been at the dance very long, but there were other people around that also seemed to be thinking that they had better things to do then hang around at the dance. He offered her a smile and stopped dancing, offering her his arm to take so at least he'd be able to escort her out in a good way, even if it wasn't true for everything that was going to happen next, for the sake of appearances they looked like they were going out with a bit of class. He smiled slightly as they headed out of the gymnasium, he was curious though if they were headed back to her dorm or his, he supposed that he'd just have to see.

She couldn't help but blush slightly as she heard him chuckle, a bit embarrassed about her pathetic attempt at trying to start conversation up. Mostly because she thought that he was laughing at her and she didn't like that feeling, though part of her realized that it might not be entirely because of her and more because of the fact that the situation was just amusing, that things seemed to have been going alright and then all of a sudden they just got silent and awkward. But that was mostly due to her dislike of silence, it always made her feel like there was something missing. That was why she usually started humming or singing or something along those lines, but with the music playing so loud it would be basically impossible for her to be able to even think of another song, let alone actually be able to find the proper pitch and rhythm without being entirely messed up but the music. She'd sing along to the current song, but she had no idea what it was so that was a no go. She guessed that she would just have to settle for the silence.

She heard the suggestion that he made and figured that it would actually be a good idea. Maybe she'd be more comfortable if she didn't have to keep dancing and being so close to him. It'd probably be quite good actually to clear her head and get her feeling a bit more like herself. "That sounds like a good idea," she said with a nod. She almost felt bad about spending so long to get ready for a dance that she didn't even hardly stay at, however she was still going to spend time with Aidan and she'd mainly gotten dressed up more for him than for the dance so she figured that it wasn't going to go to waste. She pulled away from him so that there was a bit of distance, but still kept her hand in his as they started heading off the dance floor, she looked over at him curiously. "So you want ice cream?" she was actually a bit scared of spilling anything on her dress because she liked it so much, the thought of ruining it by a moment of clumsiness wasn't appealing in the slightest, but at the same time she had to admit that ice cream sounded good.

Connor could sense that his words probably hadn't been the best way to put what he'd been thinking, she was probably going to be offended by it. In his mind it hadn't really sounded that bad but as soon as she started talking her realized that she took his words in a completely different light than what he'd meant by them. It was clear to see that she was more than just a bit upset by them, and for some reason he found that with her getting mad, he was getting mad himself. It wasn't making any sense for him to get mad, considering technically he'd just told her that she wasn't the up to the standards that he usually dated at, which was definitely not what he'd met when he said the words, but that was how they were going to be taken by her. He listened to her rant at him and simply glared at her as she started to walk away, who did she think she was calling him a coward? Was it so hard for her to see where he was coming from? Of course it was, it was Addison, she didn't like normal, or really appreciate it it would seem. She liked being different and standing out, she couldn't just blend in and fade into the background with everyone else, but her being different didn't always help anything.

"Yeah because it would just kill you to be normal," he called after her angrily, he had no clue why he was frustrated so much with her but he was. "And I will by the way, and it'll probably be a lot better than it was with you." Okay that was a total lie, he didn't even think for a minute that sex with Jessica could be as good as it was with Addison, but he had to say something. He just couldn't let her win and let that be the end of it. He glared at the wall for a few minutes, not even noticing when Addison left. Instead, he just calmly headed back inside to his date who had several questions for him and started dancing with her, trying to forget what had just happened between him and Addison, though it wasn't working well. But he was pretty sure that he was going to end up in bed with her by the end of the night, something that she probably wouldn't mind judging by the way she was hanging off of him, but he just needed something to take his mind off of the whole argument. Ironically, he was turning to the whole thing that had started the argument in the first place to take his mind off of it, but oh well that was just life in the big city.

She watched him as he started explaining why he’d come to Homecoming and asked her out, curiosity obvious on her face as she looked at him intently with big eyes, tilting her head slightly to the side, her bangs hiding her eyes slightly and forcing her to brush her hair away slightly. She smiled lightly as she listened to him, actually liking his answer. Well, she hadn’t really expected him to answer in a way that would be unpleasant to her or anything, because she didn’t think he was quite like what her parents usually told her boys of his age were. Or maybe he was, but he was doing a good job at hiding it. Still, his first intention of asking her didn’t seem to be getting into her pants, which anyway would merely lead to a sore disappointment, and so that made her rather happy. She nodded slightly as he said that he’d rather spend his time in his room, knowing what he felt on that one. She wasn’t too comfortable either right now, though she was enjoying her time rather well too, but still, she would probably have felt more at home somewhere else that didn’t involve dancing. It wasn’t that she was bad at dancing, but she’d never danced with a guy before. And the thought of being close to Elijah made her slightly uneasy.

Biting her bottom lip lightly as he then said that it was her turn to be put in the hot seat and took her hands, shivers running through her fingers and all the way up her arms as he did. That was definitely not normal. She followed him to the dance floor after a short hesitation, figuring it probably wouldn’t be so bad seeing the DJ seemed to be stuck on rather slow paced songs right now – she wondered if some students would get annoyed with it soon, but right now it didn’t seem to bother many people. She nodded slightly when he told her to answer his question honestly, the option of lying never crossing her mind, and sighed lightly as he then asked her why she’d agreed to come with him. Of course, that was to be expected. Problem was, she didn’t really know herself, but she figured she had to answer still. “I’m not really sure,” she admitted, looking up at him, the confusion she felt about the whole thing easy to read in her eyes. Honesty, just like most other emotions she felt, was always obvious to read in her, and sometimes it made other people a bit uncomfortable. “I do want to get to know you better, too,” she began, trying to find words that would best explain what she felt, though she didn’t really know what that was. “And… well, I’m not really used to any of this, it’s all new to me, and I felt like it would do some good to try it out.”

She figured there was no harm in leaving out the fact that she found him rather attractive too and that she was getting a small crush on him. After all, keeping some things to herself wasn’t lying, was it? And besides, he probably hadn’t told her everything either.

There was something a bit strange about being in the middle of the gym and kissing Milo. It was definitely not something Taylor had ever expected to do, and though it didn’t necessarily come as a shock, nor was it unpleasant – far from it actually, this felt as good as dancing, and for her, that was saying a lot. Dancing was always her escape, her freedom, her way to feel better, to forget everything that bothered her. She danced her pain away, danced her fright away, always managed to feel better when she was dancing, no matter what dance she did, no matter when, where, who, on which music. And right now, being in Milo’s arms, feeling his lips on hers and his hands on her back, the warmth spreading through her body and the need to be closer getting stronger each second, that was how she felt. Free, happy, with no worries and no care in the world. She knew it wouldn’t last, but she didn’t want it to end. She didn’t care if she lacked oxygen, she figured that fainting would be the only option to stop the kiss and at least then she wouldn’t realize it was over, which was good. Okay, so she knew that was definitely unreasonable, but why should she be reasonable anyway. Everything felt perfect, and she didn’t want anything to ruin it. And as she registered just how good it felt to be kissing him, she couldn’t help but wonder how amazing other things would feel.

She blushed lightly at the thought, biting her bottom lip lightly as he pulled away and looking at him a bit confusedly as he frowned though she noticed he wasn’t looking at her. Following his glance, she turned to see Addie who was pretty much fleeing the gym with her heels in hands, and she definitely didn’t look too happy. She didn’t think anything had happened with Holly, because the older girl had been standing with a girl Taylor knew to be a Sophomore dance student, having shared the Friday classes with her the previous year though she couldn’t quite put her finger on her name, and seeing as they’d been talking for a while now and Addie had just left, it probably wasn’t that. She turned to face Milo when he spoke up and smiled a bit, nodding slightly. She knew just how close those two were, and though she’d heard quite a few stories about what their actual relationship was, she didn’t believe most of it. She figured it was just the jealousy speaking, because Milo was definitely someone most girls wanted for themselves, and seeing the close relationship he had with the Junior artist was surely a bit upsetting. Taylor didn’t see anything wrong with it though, and if anything, it was definitely a proof that Milo could care greatly about someone.

“That’s okay, I’ll see you around,” she said a bit shyly, shivering a bit as he gave her a peck on the lips and sighing lightly as he walked out of the gym, looking around for a few seconds before making her way back to the table she’d been sitting at previously. She figured she didn’t really have a reason to stay anymore and so she grabbed her bad and headed out of the gym herself, slowly making her way back to the girl’s dorm building. All in all, this had been a pretty awesome night if not very long.

At this point, Cassandra highly doubted that Joel would turn down her offer. After all, he was a guy, wasn’t he? And weren’t teenage guys supposed to be overly hormonal? She was pretty much presenting him a chance of possible sex without any conditions or consequences to think of, seeing as she didn’t think either of them would be considering this as a long term thing. She wasn’t even sure it’d turn out to be a fling, maybe a few encounters if it was good enough, and if not then they’d settle for a one night stand. What could it hurt? In her mind, there definitely wasn’t any harm in it, and besides, it wasn’t as though she’d be the first one to try that out. She was pretty sure that there was a similar reason as to why her brother had left the dance early with a girl, and she wasn’t about to feel bad, slutty or anything because she’d just suggested having sex to a guy.

Her smirk widened slightly as he agreed to her suggestion and gave a small nod, rolling her eyes slightly when he offered her his arm to lead the way out but taking it anyway, wondering if he was actually doing it to be polite or because he wanted to put up a show or at least give himself a good image. Either way, she didn’t really care, nor would she have cared if he’d plainly dragged her out of the place. Walking out of the gym, she turned to him with a raised eyebrow while they made their way outside, figuring it would probably be a better idea to get back to her own room rather than his. After all, she most likely had a larger bed, and she was pretty sure that Moira was out though she hadn’t actually seen her at homecoming. “I think in this case, there’s no use asking your place or mine,” she said with a smirk, leading the way to the girl’s dorm building. “Mine will definitely be more comfortable.” Her smirk widened slightly and she checked inside the building to make sure there wasn’t anybody sitting at the reception desk before dragging him inside and leading the way to her dorm.

He grinned widely as she agreed to his suggestion, glad that she also seemed a bit relieved after she heard it. He knew this evening was new to her, and probably making her slightly uncomfortable to some extent, because she most likely wasn’t used to being so close to a guy even if it was merely for dancing, and he couldn’t blame her either. After all, most girls in her situation felt just as awkward and uncomfortable as she did, and even then, they were sometimes a lot more clumsy than she was. Though he really couldn’t say he’d minded her slight act of clumsiness, though it was more of shock than anything else, when she’d pressed her body to his. It’d felt strangely good to feel her body so close, though they weren’t actually doing anything. So he couldn’t exactly say that his main goal with asking her out was to corrupt her, though that was definitely something to keep in mind, but he was really interesting and intrigued even by her. He’d never been with a girl even remotely close to what she was like, and it fascinated him to see that there were still some girls around who were still innocent and such. And well, she was pretty hot, even though she seemed to be doing her best to hide it.

He smiled lightly when she pulled away but left her hand in his, glad that she hadn’t entirely cut off every contact they had at that moment. He didn’t want to let go of her hand just now, he enjoyed the feeling of softness and the slight warmth that spread through his arm. He lead the way out of the gym, idly wondering what the other students would actually think if they saw that – he was well known for seducing girls, and she was the new Mary Sue on campus. That’d surely be a fresh subject for gossip, but he didn’t think that much could be said from it still. After all, they definitely weren’t the first to head out of the gym, and probably wouldn’t be the last, so at this point most people would most likely not notice anyway. He felt a bit bad still that she’d gotten all dressed up and such for a dance which she’d hardly attended, but at least he’d still get to spend a bit more time with her. “Ice cream would be pretty good,” he said with a nod, grinning down at her. He knew his way around the city pretty well, but he figured that the best option still would be Dairy Queen, though after coming to this city, he strongly preferred A Sweet Expression. It was a bit too far though, and DQ was hardly ten minutes away, so he chose to lead the way there instead so that they’d have more time to talk.

Kristina smirked at Holly's sarcastic remark. She knew it was a stupid question she was just trying to make conversation. She didn't really want to talk about Addison anyways. It brought her mood down slightly. She didn't really know what to say to the older girl. She didn't know if she should just come out and tell her that she liked her or not. She didn't really know if she liked her or not and she didn't want to be denied. She had a small fear or rejection. Mostly in people she had a crush on. She didn't know what to say. Kristina then realized that Holly said she had been to dances solo. For some reason that shocked her. She knew the girl had to have come alone at one point in time, but she never thought it would be from not asking people. Holly seemed to be blunt and asked whatever she wanted to with no fear at all. She wished she could be like that. So sure of one self. Kristina had not a low self esteem but not a high one either. She was kind of in between the two. She was sure enough to dance in front of a million people, but not ask someone on a date.

Kristina's eyes got wide when Holly asked her to dance. She tried to hide her reaction quickly though. She didn't want Holly to see how shocked she was. She didn't want her to know just how much she liked her. She wouldn't deny it if she was asked, but she wasn't going to tell her for no reason either. "I would love to dance." Kristina managed to say. She was trying to hide her excitement. She didn't know if it was working or not. Holly had probably already guessed that Kristina liked her but she didn't want to make it super obvious. She told herself to chill. It worked slightly. She was still standing up straight and her eyes were still shining but there was nothing she could do about that. It was just a reaction she could not hide. On the plus side though by Holly asking her to dance it meant that she had an interest in Kristina. No matter how small that interest was it was still something. Something that Kristina would hold on to. A reason to hope. She smiled at the thought of Holly actually liking her. It didn't make any sense but it made her happy.
